Consequently, the sewage is agitated and flows into the tank 1, suspended matter is flocculated by a flocculant, and the flocs are gradually enlarged. The interval between the plates 4 and 4 and the speed of the jet are appropriately specified, hence the grains enlarged to a certain size are settled between the plates 4 and 4 against the agitating current, and the suspended matter in the sewage is removed. Org. matter and ammonia are removed in this way.
