CONSTITUTION: The low-pressure drum 2 has an outer cylinder 101 located outside a cyclone-type cylindrical steam separator 102. Numerous feed water heating pipes 17 are provided between the outer cylinder 101 and the steam separator 102. A steam-water mixture flows from low-pressure evaporating pipes 8 to a nozzle 109 so that the mixture gushes between the wall of the steam separator 102 and a center shaft 110 and swirls in the steam separator. The water drops are pushed to the wall by the centrifugal force and gravitate into a water outlet nozzle 111. The steam swirls upward as shown by the dotted line so that the steam is picked out through a steam outlet nozzle 112.
