The optical axis draws a circular locus by the rotation of the glass plate 4a to be imaged on the member 6. Thus, after the enlarged edge image of the object 1 to be detected is rotated by the rotation of the glass plate 4a and a light intensity signal is taken into the element 7 via a pin hole 6' in the member 6, the enlarged edge image of the object is detected.
