CONSTITUTION: An emulsifier composition contains as requisite components a basic amino acid salt of a fatty acid, e.g., L-arginine salt of MC stearic acid, synthesized from a 8W40C fatty acid and arginine, etc., and a diol compound with hydroxyl groups at alpha- and beta-positions, e.g., 15W18C 1,2-alkanediol, in a proportion of approx. 20:1W1:20 by weight. The composition can sufficiently emulsify an oil component, e.g., a mineral oil, an animal oil, a vegetable oil, a wax, or a synthetic ester oil, to form stable emulsions. Cream or lotion products obtained from the emulsifier composition only or the emulsifier composition with an additive have a mild action on the skin, as well as excellent applicability and appearance.
