Moreover, the aerobes and anaerobes are implanted in the layer 1 in coexistence with each other by controlling the amt. of dissolved oxygen in the vicinity of the outlet of the layer 1 to oxidize and denitrify the BOD components in the layer 1. Besides, oxygen is sufficiently supplied into the layer 2 to implant aerobes, and the residual BOD components are oxidized and/or nitrated in the layer 2. Consequently, the setting area can be reduced, and the treatment can be stabilized.
