CONSTITUTION: Raw leaves of a tree (especially cedar leaves) are boiled in water, and the decocted liquid is concentrated with heat. The concentrate is mixed with the liver oil of swellfish. The mixture is boiled for about 30 minutes, left to cool, poured into a glass cylinder, and allowed to separate into two layers. The liver oil mixture is decomposed by boiling producing an egg-yellow coagulate. The egg-yellow top layer is collected, and the pale red lower layer is discarded. The collected top layer liquid is free from glycerol, and nontoxic. A mixture of the liquid with iron powder magnetized to ≤1,000 Gauss is useful as an internal drug for tubeculosis, abdominal typhus, etc. or an external drug suitable for varios dermatitis and for sterilization.
