124 Method of and agents for influencing weather US31625272 1972-12-18 US3802624A 1974-04-09 KUHNE R; DIERY H; REHBERG R; HAMAL H
Polyfunctional alcohols with at least two alcoholic hydroxy groups are effective agents for dispelling fog and clouds. Preferred solid compounds are the so called sugar alcohols, saccharides and polyvinyl-alcohol, as liquid compounds or compounds with a low melting point alkane-diols, -triols or polyols or their reaction products with oxalkylating agents. The said compounds are sprayed into fog or clouds in finely dispersed form. They may be used, optionally together with other fog and clouds dispelling agents.
125 Barium release system US3751913D 1970-07-31 US3751913A 1973-08-14 MURPHY W; PAINE T; LEWIS B; STOKES C; SMITH E
A chemical system for releasing a good yield of free barium (Ba*) atoms and barium ions (Ba ) to create ion clouds in the upper atmosphere and interplanetary space for the study of the geophysical properties of the medium.
126 Coloured smoke production US3738278D 1971-06-07 US3738278A 1973-06-12 BACHUSKY W; LEVESQUE R
The invention provides a process for producing an intense, persistent coloured smoke, wherein a mixture of VOCl3 and a stabilizer, e.g. concentrated sodium hydroxide, which intensifies and prolongs the color of the smoke, is released into the atmosphere. Also, a packaged composition for providing such a smoke, which comprises a sealed frangible container containing a mixture of VOCl3 and a stabilizer of said type.
127 Caseless smoke grenade including polyvinyl chloride binder US3724382D 1971-09-23 US3724382A 1973-04-03 ZILCOSKY H
A caseless smoke generating grenade consists essentially of a cast flexible main charge. The flameless pyrotechnic composition used in the main charge is comprised of substantially equal proportions of zinc oxide and a perchlorate oxidizer distributed throughout a plasticized polymeric resin fuel having a high halogen content. The composition is free of solvent and provides controlled burning coupled with excellent flexibility, cohesive strength and impact resistance.
