1 MOUNTING AND PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR BOATS US16035426 2018-07-13 US20190016428A1 2019-01-17 Meg McCall; James Van Gompel
A paddle mount for a boat is described. The mount includes a generally t-shaped tubular body including a flange and a stem, where the length of the flange and the stem is adjustable and the ends of the flange are configured to rest on opposite sides of the boat cockpit. The mount is configured to couple to the front end of the cockpit and to an end of the stem, such that the t-shaped body may be rotated upwards away from the boat. A mount adapter is also described that may be used to attach a paddle to the boat using the mount.
2 PADDLE FOR WATERCRAFT OR FLOTATION DEVICE US14594086 2015-01-10 US20160200411A1 2016-07-14 Michael MARINO; Joseph Schorn
A paddle for a waterdraft or flotation device has a pair of shaft mounted blades connected by a core member. A right hand drive grip and a left hand drive grip are secured in spaced relation to opposite ends of the core. A right hand offset is mounted adjacent the right hand drive grip and a left hand offset is mounted adjacent the left hand drive grip for providing hand clearance for a user. The core is telescopically expandable and accommodates various size paddle shifts for propelling different watercraft.

4 Paddle apparatus for watercraft US14508537 2014-10-07 US09663207B2 2017-05-30 Cyrus O. Varan
A propulsion mechanism to propel a watercraft through water comprises paddle bars pivotally attached to a support at a first pivot, the paddle bars having a handle at a first end and a paddled second end. A paddle is pivotally attached to the second end of each paddle bar at a second pivot. When the mechanism is operated through the power stroke, the second pivot end allows the paddle to be supported by the respective paddle bar and to be forcefully driven through the water. When the power stroke is completed, the paddle is permitted to pivot about the second pivot and to disengage the respective paddle bar as the mechanism operates through the return stroke.
5 Device for propelling a vessel US14690618 2015-04-20 US09511837B1 2016-12-06 John Reeves
A device for propelling a vessel through water that includes an elongated handle; a grip at one end of the elongated handle; a paddle-shaped frame at an opposite end of the handle; a pair of blades that are pivotally supported at opposed respective sides of the frame and that have an open position and a normally biased closed position; and a cam supported by the frame and operated from the grip end of the handle. The cam is constructed and arranged to control the position of the blades so that in one position thereof the blades are partially opened allowing the blades to pivot, and in another position thereof the blades are nested against the frame so that the blades are maintained in the closed position.

7 Sculling oar handle cover US11888964 2007-08-03 US20090036007A1 2009-02-05 Constance T. Cannady
The sculling oar handle cover is used to reduce friction between a sculling rower's fingers/hands and the existing sculling oar handle during rowing, thereby reducing the risk of blisters and other damage to the skin. The cover is affixed to the existing oar handle by sliding it over the handle and securing it with a Velcro fastener. Due to the required stoking method for sculling, the sculling oar handle cover virtually eliminates the friction caused by the continuous rotating of fingers/hands on sculling oar handles. Additionally, because the sculling oar handle cover must be wetted to function property, the slipping of fingers/hands on the oar handles is unlikely even with the release of body oils or the splashing of water on the oar handle covers.

An object is to provide a Ro-scull which can suppress a decrease in thrust force by water resistance generated during turn-over operation and can realize high-speed cruise of a boat. The Ro-scull has a Ro-arm 1 and a Ro-blade 2 having a flat part 12 perpendicular to the Ro-arm 1. The Ro-arm 1 is attached to an upper end portion of the Ro-blade 2 from an obliquely lower side. Namely, the Ro-arm 1 and the Ro-blade 2 are joined to each other while the Ro-arm 1 “receives” the Ro-blade 2. A Ro-handle 3 is arranged not on the upper surface side but on the lower surface side of the Ro-arm 1.
