A convertible motorcycle assembly has a chassis, a driver's seat, and a latch assembly which secures the driver's seat to the forward portion of the chassis. A bracket is mounted on the chassis adjacent the rearward end of the driver's seat, and selectively mounted on the chassis rearwardly of the driver's seat are interchangeable rear components comprising a passenger seat and a storage compartment. The forward end of the interchangeable rear components has at least one forwardly extending tongue engaged with the bracket, and the rear component is secured to the chassis by a second latch assembly adjacent the rear end of the rear component. This latch assembly includes a second releasable latch on the chassis and second key lock on the rear component engaged with the second latch assembly for effecting and preventing release of the second latch assembly.

The enclosure forms an interior volume for receiving a load. The top is connected to a top edge of the back of the enclosure. The latching mechanism is coupled to the top and to the enclosure for maintaining the top in a closed position. The sleeve is attached to a top of the back of the enclosure and forms a cavity for receiving the back rest of the seat. The strap is connected to the back of the enclosure, and in use, is positioned vertically around the back rest, at least partially underneath the sleeve, and securely tightened around the back rest.

The cushion member has a frame, cushioning material extending about the front and sides of the frame, and a flexible cover disposed over the cushioning material. A glove box is secured to the rear of the frame of the cushion member and includes a receptacle having an opening thereinto, a cover configured and dimensioned to cover the opening, and a hinge pivotally mounting the cover on the receptacle. Fasteners secure the receptacle to the frame of the backrest cushion.

A rubber locking device for a bicycle seat bag is composed of a rubber strip which is fastened to the top of the seat bag by a clamp board, two hook bases correspondingly provided at two sides of the seat bag for fastening to the two ends of the rubber strip. The rubber strip is provided with pluralities of locking holes so that when the rubber strip goes through above the shafts under the bicycle seat, the two ends of the rubber strip are extensively pulled and the most appropriate locking holes can be fastened to the hook bases at the two sides of the seat bag to efficiently bind with the shafts under the seat and to obtain a preferred shock-absorbing function. A U fastener base provided at the front of the seat bag is composed of a U frame and a resilient rubber ring. The U fastener base is provided with locking hooks at two ends, such that after the U frame is leant against the seat post, the rubber ring is resiliently pulled and held around the other side of the seat post to lock with one of the hooks at the other side to firmly fasten to the underside of the seat.

The vehicle seat contains a cavity which serves as a storage compartment. The seat cover contains a pocket which inserts into the storage compartment to serve as a readily removable liner. The pocket is covered with a lid which can be reversibly closed over the pocket opening.

A motorcycle golf bag carrier is used with a saddlebag mounting system in which a pair of frame-mounted brackets each having an opening are spaced from each other longitudinally of the motorcycle at approximately the same vertical elevation. A locking pin extends through the opening in each bracket, and an elongate, longitudinally extending, frame-mounted rail is disposed at a vertical elevation lower than the brackets. The carrier according to the invention includes a generally L-shaped bracket having a first, laterally extending section and a second, vertically extending section. The first section includes a longitudinally extending channel of a size and shape that approximates the size and shape of the longitudinally extending rail and which permits the bracket to be mounted to the rail. The second section has a pair of spaced openings of a size and shape to receive the pins, the openings being aligned with the openings in the brackets when the channel is mounted to the rail. A first, elongate retainer member is connected to one side of the second section and encircles a golf bag disposed on the first section. Preferably, the first section has a vertically extending lip extending about its periphery within which the bottom of the golf bag can be nested, and the first retainer member is a bungee cord or a strap having connectors at its ends. The second section can include an upper portion that extends to a vertical elevation above the seat of the motorcycle and a second, elongate retainer member that is connected to one side of the upper portion and encircles the golf bag. Alternative embodiments include specially configured golf bags and a golf bag travel case that can be connected to and carried by the motorcycle.

The present motorcycle luggage is comprised of a storage container attached on a rigid base plate. The base plate is arranged to be snapped on to a conventional motorcycle body in place of the removable rear seat. Latching members arranged on the bottom of the base plate are arranged to mate with the existing latching receptacles on the motorcycle. Different latching members may be provided for mating with the latching receptacles on different motorcycles. The present luggage is thus quickly installable by a rider without modifying the motorcycle. It is secure from theft. It will never come loose or fall off, and it will never become tangled in the rear wheel like many strapped-on storage devices improvised by riders.
