201 Articulated rear fender for bicycles US09605365 2000-06-29 US06199883B1 2001-03-13 Jack C. Gable
An articulated rear fender for a bicycle includes a clamp releasably mountable to a seat post and a fender body mounted to the clamp.
202 Retractible mudguard US688941 1996-08-01 US5899473A 1999-05-04 John Mackenzie
A mudguard comprises a first portion that is fixed relative to the frame of a bicycle and a second arcuate portion mounted to tracks associated with the first portion to be extended from or telescoped therein as desired. The distal end of the second portion is supported by struts which are rotatable about a rim forming a part of a mount secured to the wheel axis in concentric relation therewith. The arrangement permits a relatively rattle free attachment of the mudguard.
203 Releasably attachable bicycle fender US680816 1996-07-16 US5762349A 1998-06-09 Robert M. Gancarz
A mud guard adapted for releasable attachment to the saddle of a bicycle comprises a sheet of a semi-rigid body adapted to be folded so as to define a long projecting open ended nose or snout sleevable over the forward end of a bicycle saddle so that the tail of the so-folded sheet may be extended rearwardly of the saddle and outwardly thereof in a cantilevered manner over and in spaced relationship to the rear wheel of the bicycle.
204 Multifunctional collapsible shield US581848 1996-01-02 US5700022A 1997-12-23 Lawrence M. Finnson
A multifunctional collapsible shield (10) comprising an elongated sheet (12) and a pair of elongated panels (14). A facility (16) is for attaching each longitudinal edge of the elongated sheet (12) to the longitudinal center of each elongated panel (14). A component (18) is for joining opposite longitudinal edges of the elongated panels (14) together. The elongated sheet (12) in combination with the elongated panels (14) will form a structural tube (20) with outer portions of the elongated panels (14) extending away from the formed structural tube (20), to function as guard members.
205 Motorcycle rear fender cover US361987 1994-12-22 US5575528A 1996-11-19 Louis Netz
A motorcycle seat has an arcuate rear portion and a front portion. A fender cover is fixed to the arcuate rear portion of the motorcycle seat and extending rearwardly therefrom. The fender cover comprising a thin section conforming generally to the contour of the upper portion of a motorcycle fender and including a base plate and a decorative top.
206 Bicycle fender US298269 1994-08-31 US5562296A 1996-10-08 S. Warren Hall; Jacquelyn L. O. Hall
The present invention relates to bicycle fenders and in particular to bicycle fenders which are easily removed from a bicycle. In a preferred form, the bicycle fender is manually distorted to a compact storage condition. This storage condition allows the fender to be carried on a bicycle in a non-operating, convenient condition or carried by the user. In this way, the fender may be applied when conditions merit a fender and the fender may be easily removed.
207 Motorcycle front fender mounting system US627307 1990-12-14 US5186274A 1993-02-16 Terry Hegman
A front fender mount for a motorcycle, having a fork and double struts, which maintains the fender at a constant spacing from the wheel axle regardless of the movement of the fork and struts relative to the axle. The mount includes a bracket fixed to the fender, one linkage pivotally interconnecting the bracket and the fork, and another linkage pivotally interconnecting the bracket and the struts. A brake caliper mounting interconnects the bracket and the motorcycle wheel axle.
208 Readily removable and collapsible bicycle fender US643537 1991-01-18 US5121935A 1992-06-16 Francis X. Mathieu; Francis X. Boyce
A retractable fender for a bicycle which includes a strip of flexible resilient material such as spring steel which is fixed at one end to a connector which is, in turn, mounted to a fixed structure of a bicycle such as the seat adjusting bolt or the bolt for one of the wheel brake calipers has two normal states. In a first state, the strip is self-biased into a helical coil configuration and the strip is straight between the side edges of the strip. In a second state, the strip is longitudinally straight and rigid and self-biased into a bowed configuration between the side edges of the strip. The fender is rendered to its second state by uncoiling the strip so that it is fully extended and allowing the strip to assume its natural bowed configuration so that the strip is effectively locked into a straight rigid configuration. The strip is again retracted by making the free end of the strip flat so that the strip returns to its normal helical coil configuration.
209 Bicycle reflector and splash guard US76134 1979-09-17 US4243241A 1981-01-06 Alden B. Davis
An arm is pivotally secured to a clamp mounted on a bicycle frame; the arm extends to adjacent the outer periphery of an uncovered wheel. A flat shield of flexible plastic material is molded onto the end of the arm and extends over the wheel. The shield is provided with a cutout therein conforming to the cross-sectional perimeter of the uncovered wheel. A plurality of flexible fingers are molded integrally in the shield and extend into the cutout so that the flexible fingers ride upon the periphery of the wheel as it passes through the cutout in the shield. The arm is pivotal between a guard position, wherein water, dirt and debris thrown by the wheel are deflected from a cyclist operating the bicycle, and a storage position wherein it remains unobtrusive and out of the way so that it does not interfere with the operation of the bicycle. A reflector is molded into one side of the shield to reflect light striking the shield when it is in the storage position.
