PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a turning in the cornering from being structurally restricted for an athletic snow sled with which the speed thereof made by the traction force of a dog on the snow is competed.
SOLUTION: In this athletic snow sled, at a middle and rear portion of two sliding plates 1, 1 of a snow sled main body 15, main arms 2, 2, that are inclined in the forward direction at about 60 degrees are fixed respectively. Further, movable connecting portions 6 are axially engaged moveably with free connecting rods 4 with bolt axis 5 at two points respectively on each of the left and right pair of main arms 2, 2 and edge portions 3, 3 of the sliding plates 1, 1. These moveable connecting portions 6 form sliding portions at which the two sliding plates 1, 1 synchronize with each other at a constant interval. In addition, bearings 7, 7 are provided at upper end portions of the two main arms 2, 2. Further, an U-shaped main frame 9 with a handle portion 8 is axially moveably engaged with the two bearings 7, 7.

An improved horse drawn sulky for harness racing, which is inexpensive to manufacture, and which compensates for the lateral forces caused by banking of the track and turning. The frame of the sulky is formed so that the wheel on the outside of the track is forwardly offset relative to the wheel on the inside of the track. In addition, the frame affords each wheel a camber which more nearly aligns the wheels with the surface of the track. The simple offset design improves traction on a banked track and improves tracking in turns. |

A race sulky is provided with wheel guards that are each comprised of a pair of spaced-apart and opposed side shield surfaces, a nose shield surface that extends forward of the sulky wheel and joins the side shield surfaces into a U-shaped plan configuration, and fastener components that secure the joined side shield surfaces to the sulky wheel axle and sulky wheel fork. |
