Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kupplungsanordnung (100) für die Stirnseite eines spurgeführten Fahrzeuges, insbesondere Schienenfahrzeuges. Die Kupplungsanordnung (100) weist eine Mittelpufferkupplung (1) mit einem Kupplungskopf (2), einem den Kupplungskopf (2) tragenden Kupplungsschaft (3) und einem Lager (4), über welches der Kupplungsschaft (3) in horizontaler und/oder vertikaler Richtung verschwenkbar mit dem Untergestell des Fahrzeuges verbindbar ist, auf. Ferner ist eine der Mittelpufferkupplung (1) zugeordnete Energieverzehreinrichtung (50) mit mindestens einem vorzugsweise destruktiv ausgebildeten Energieverzehrelement (65) vorgesehen. Um zu erreichen, dass in einem Crashfall ein maximaler Energieverzehr bei einem vorab festlegbaren Ereignisablauf realisiert werden kann, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass die Kupplungsanordnung (100) ferner eine Stützstruktur (10) aufweist mit zwei jeweils seitlich der Mittelpufferkupplung (1) angeordneten Längsträgern (11, 12) und einem mit den beiden Längsträgern (11, 12) verbundenen Querträger (13), welcher derart oberhalb der Mittelpufferkupplung (1) angeordnet ist, dass von dem Querträger (13) eine vertikale Auslenkung des Kupplungsschaftes (3) relativ zu dem Fahrzeuguntergestell begrenzt wird.
