Swivel-sliding door system for a vehicle, having a door leaf situated in the vehicle wall in the closed state, and situated on the outside in front of the vehicle wall in the open state, and having drive means, transverse guide means and longitudinal guide means which make possible a swivel-sliding movement of the door leaf. The longitudinal guide means comprise a bearing rail which extends over the width of the door opening and which is coupled to drive members which can cause the bearing wheel to execute a movement transversely to the vehicle wall (3). The bearing rail is provided with a first set of rollers (62, 63) which run in the bearing rail and which are mounted on a coupling member (65) which is provided with a second set of rollers (66, 67) which are situated in a lower position and which interact with a door rail (6) attached to the top of a door leaf (1, 2). However the drive means comprise a drive lever driven by the housing of a motor and lead screws which are driven by the spindle of the motor and which support nut members coupled to the door leaves. The motor is mounted on a mounting plate whose bottom supports, moreover, a guide rail and roller guide members. The roller guide members interact with roller supports which are linked to the bearing rail and which are actuated by the drive lever. The spindle of the drive lever also actuates a lowermost swivel arm, coupled to the door leaf, via a vertical rod. |

128 | Swinging plug door | EP81303975.7 | 1981-09-01 | EP0047619A1 | 1982-03-17 | Viner, George Charles Westinghouse Limited |
A plug door (1) for a vehicle such as a railway carriage, is carried and driven by a swinging lever (9) which has a sliding fulcrum mechanism (12) the effect of which is to flatten the arc through which the door (1) is carried. The edge (3) of the door (1) which trails in an opening movement is guided either by means of a relatively long pivot arm (19) or by a curved (17) or straight track (18). The alternative guide means give different trajectories (20, 21, 22) to the leading edge (4) of the door (1), and all require much less room than known swinging plug doors. The long pivot arm guide (19) keeps the door (1) closest to the side of the vehicle during opening. A duplicate swinging lever (9) with sliding fulcrum mechanism (12) as a guide for the trailing edge will move the door (1) parallel to the side of the vehicle and the sliding fulcrums will substantially reduce the outward excursion. By mounting the driving swinging lever (9) over-centre, i.e. closer to the trailing edge (3) of the door (1) the plug action is provided for so that a closed door may be flush with the vehicle. |

Provided are a railroad vehicle that makes it possible to maintain the air tightness of a door and a plug door for a railroad vehicle. A second rail is provided parallel to a first rail in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body above the leading edge side (door side) of a plug rail. The second rail supports the leading edge side of the plug rail. As a result, both edges of the plug rail are supported by the first rail and the second rail. Dangling of the leading edge side of the plug rail is thus prevented even when the plug distance (the distance that the door moves in the vehicle body width direction) is long. In this way, it is possible to block the doorway without leaving a gap using the door and to maintain the air tightness of the door. | ||||||
