21 Caster bearing assembly US983507 1992-11-30 US5230571A 1993-07-27 Michael H. Estkowski; Christopher G. Estkowski
A bearing assembly comprising a roller mechanism and a cage member. The roller mechanism includes a plurality of roller members and a plurality of frangible connector links for initially connecting each roller member to an adjacent roller member. The roller members and the connector links are integrally molded together. The cage member includes a circular flange and a plurality of spacer pegs extending perpendicular from the flange in a circular configuration. The pegs are spaced apart from one another and each peg includes a tip having a hollow chamber adapted to receive and store a connector link. The pegs are adapted to be inserted between adjacent roller members during assembly such that when the cage member and the roller mechanism are pressed together, the pegs will sever the connector links from the roller members and will retain the severed connector links in the chambers of the peg tips. The severed roller members are then free to independently rotate within the cage member.

PURPOSE:To make assembly of a rubber roller easy and lower the cost thereof used in an unattended wherehouse and the like by forcibly inserting and fitting one bearing part onto the inner peripheral face of a wheel provided with a stepped part, while heating and sticking rubber to the outer periphery of the wheel. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing the captioned device, after forcibly inserting and fitting a bearing part 5 on a stepped part 2 on the inner peripheral surface inside a wheel 1, the first cover 7 is fitted to an opening port of one end of the wheel 1 to close said opening port. Then, a collar 8 is fitted to it and a projecting part 1a at one end of the wheel 1 is caulked in ward, thereby preventing projection of a collar 9 to fix it and fitting the second cover 9 to close an opening port on the other end of the wheel 1. Subsequently, a support shaft 10 is inserted from one end side to caulk the end part so that the support shaft 10 is fixed to a roller. The outer peripheral face of the wheel 1 is formed in a rough face 3 and a recessed part 4 is formed in the center of the wheel 1 so that later heating and sticking of rubber 13 may be certainly performed.

The present disclosure may relate to centerless wheel assembly that includes a centerless rim including a first center point laying in a first plane generally defined by the centerless rim. The centerless wheel assembly may also include a centerless ring gear coupled to the centerless rim such that rotation of the centerless ring gear causes a corresponding rotation of the centerless rim. The centerless ring gear may include a second center point laying in a second plane generally defined by the centerless ring gear, and the first plane may be generally parallel to the second plane. Additionally, the centerless ring gear may be shaped to interface with a drive gear that drives the centerless ring gear.

34 HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE WHEEL HUB LUBRICANT FILL PORT US15333307 2016-10-25 US20170120674A1 2017-05-04 Jay D. White
An axle depends from a heavy-duty vehicle. Each one of a pair of wheel end assemblies is mounted on a respective one of the ends of the axle. Each wheel end assembly includes a pair of bearings mounted on a spindle of the axle, and a wheel hub rotatably mounted on the bearings. A cavity is formed in the wheel end assembly between the bearings. A port is formed in the wheel hub and extends axially inwardly from an outboard end to a lubricant cavity of the hub, and angles radially inwardly from the outboard end to the lubricant cavity at an angle relative to an axial centerline of the hub. Lubricant for the bearings is introduced into the cavity by means of the port, and the port is tapped to receive a plug to seal it and contain the lubricant in the cavity. The port also provides a visual indicator if there is a leakage of semi-fluid grease.

A wheel support device for a vehicle includes a bearing that rotatably supports a wheel, and is lubricated by a lubricant, a bearing support member, and a self-discharge type charge eliminator provided on a surface of a particular member. The self-discharge type charge eliminator is configured to change air around the self-discharge type charge eliminator into negative air ions, and eliminate charge by causing the air ions to attract positive charges of the particular member for neutralization, so as to reduce the quantity of charge of the particular member, and thereby reduce the quantity of charge of the lubricant.
36 Caster with conductors between the tire of its wheel and the carrier of its wheel frame US812620 1991-12-23 US5184373A 1993-02-09 Hans-Willi Lange
A caster wherein the metallic carrier for a plastic wheel frame is connected to the conductive tire of the wheel by a multi-section conductor system having a portion in the disc-shaped connector between the rim and the hub of the wheel, a portion which is connected with the outer race of an antifriction ball bearing surrounding the hub, a shaft forming part of a fulcrum for the hub of the wheel, a wire in an internal groove of one leg of the wheel frame, the devices which can be actuated to brake the wheel and to block angular movements of the frame relative to the carrier, and a spring which connects the two devices to one another. The braking and blocking devices can be actuated by a conductive plunger which is non-rotatably but axially movably installed in and contacts the carrier and can be shifted by a spring in cooperation with a rotary cam in the carrier. The conductor system serves to convey static electric charges between the conductive tire of the rim and the carrier which latter is installed in the leg of a piece of furniture or in any other object or body to be mounted on one or more casters.
