1 Racing wheel US276258 1994-07-18 US5490719A 1996-02-13 Paul E. Lew
A racing wheel for a vehicle such as a bicycle. The wheel includes a rotationally stationary inner component connectable to the bicycle, a rotatable outer hoop having a bearing engaging surface, a ground engaging tread disposed on the outer hoop, and bearings mounted on the inner component to be rotationally stationary therewith. The bearings each include a support surface contoured to operatively engage the outer hoop bearing engaging surface such that the outer hoop is axially and radially supported relative to the inner component to allow rotation therebetween. The bearings are positioned around the inner component at particularly selected locations to achieve high wheel performance.

3 Optimized Rim For Robust Pneumatic Bicycle Wheel Functionality US14862643 2015-09-23 US20170080749A1 2017-03-23 Raymond Anderson Scruggs
A bicycle wheel rim design with high safety margin and optimized strength-to-weight is described. The rim provides a tire bead supporting platform which defines a circumferential bead seat with minimum bead seat diameter equal to the standard tire bead diameter defined for a particular size of tire. Each tire bead seat defined along the rim circumference is comprised by a pair of circumferential ridges. The circumferential ridges comprise the external sidewalls of the rim and do not include tire bead hook features, and are of optimized sidewall thickness to add load strength and lateral stiffness, and resist crushing from impact. The interior ridges are increased diameter towards the medial plane of the rim to a value greater than the specified tire bead diameter. Given this geometry, the left lateral and right lateral of each tire bead is safely constrained within the defined bead seats under a wide variety of uses.
4 Amphibious wheel, vehicle and method US11644470 2006-12-21 US07445530B2 2008-11-04 Todd Munshaur; Steven Van Osdell
An amphibious vehicle for one or more operators is equipped with four buoyant amphibious propulsion wheels, the wheels having a number of collapsible pockets disposed about the surface of the wheel. Each pocket comprises an opening oriented in the direction of rotation of the wheel and an outlet means distal to the opening for draining the pocket. Methods for using the amphibious wheel are also disclosed.
5 Convertible airplane US797955 1977-05-18 US4165846A 1979-08-28 Theodore O. Groeger
A land-, air- and water-vehicle comprising a rolling, floatable and steerable fuselage, the roof-hinged doors of which serve as its wings, and which fuselage's lateral and rear portions are extendable into an airfoil with attached fins and stabilizer, whereby wings, fuselage and stabilizer provide sufficient aerodynamic lift.
6 System and method for displaying artwork US15213221 2016-07-18 US09849720B1 2017-12-26 Paul Adams
A design mount includes a design cutout having a design printed or adhered to the design surface and an adhesive tape on the back of the design cutout to mount the design cutout to any design surface. A plurality of design cutouts may be printed on a single sheet of material, and the design cutouts then cut out of the sheet. The design mount may also provide an artwork holder, having a shape that matches the shape of the design cutout. The inner perimeter of the holder may be about 1 mm smaller than the outer perimeter of the design cutout. The artwork holder may be heated, and the design cutout secured within the holder while the holder is heated. The holder then cools, providing a tight fit of the design cutout within the artwork holder.
7 Custom Wheel With Wooden Inserts US13861616 2013-04-12 US20140306510A1 2014-10-16 DeAnthony THOMAS
An ornamental wheel which is used to enhance the aesthetics of a vehicle. The ornamental wheel having a wheel and a plurality of ornamental inserts. The wheel is custom made in order to offer a look that is unique to each vehicle. Each of the ornamental inserts having a wooden body that is constructed in a customized shape in order to provide a unique style and overall appearance to a individual's vehicle. In a first embodiment of the ornamental wheel, the plurality of ornamental inserts are permanently connected to the wheel. In a second embodiment of the ornamental wheel, the plurality of ornamental inserts are removably attached to the wheel, allowing inserts of different colors to be interchanged.

9 Hubless wheel US169582 1993-12-17 US5419619A 1995-05-30 Paul E. Lew
A hubless wheel for a vehicle which provides advantageous weight and aerodynamic properties. The wheel includes a rotationally stationary inner hoop, coupled to the vehicle, and a rotatable outer hoop, concentric with the inner hoop. The inner hoop and outer hoop are both fabricated with a woven fiber composite shell. A ground engaging tread is disposed on the radial periphery of the outer hoop. Bearings, preferably three rotating bearings spaced circumferentially around the inner hoop at approximately 120.degree. intervals, are mounted on the inner hoop to be rotationally stationary therewith and each include a support surface on their respective radial peripheries. The support surface is particularly contoured to operatively engage a bearing engaging surface located on the inner periphery of the outer hoop. The outer hoop is axially and radially supported relative to the inner hoop through this engagement to allow rotation therebetween.
10 Method of making wheels, pulleys and tumblers US57416 1979-07-13 US4302872A 1981-12-01 Henry J. F. Gerrand
Used and/or scrap pneumatic tires may be used for making wheels and pulleys for low speed, low load and low cost applications, the bead of the tires being utilized as the means mounting the tire, the bead being deformed to a generally polygonal shape. When plates are substituted for spokes on the wheels, low cost tumblers are produced.
