PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a decorative sheet having a three-dimensional effect. SOLUTION: A fringe pattern 11 made of many parallel straight lines of a predetermined pitch is formed by printing on a front surface of a transparent sheet 10 having a thickness. A moire fringe 12 formed by using the pattern 11 of the surface is formed by printing. In this decorative sheet, a lattice-like moire pattern is obtained by a moire phenomenon in the case of observing from a front or rear surface. This moire pattern has a depth, and seen in a sense of sinking from the surface of the sheet 10 to be a stereoscopic sense. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a building plate having depth and rich in three-dimensional effect by partly applying first and second coating to a projecting part and a recessed part on the front side thereof, respectively, and applying third coating to the front side from the projecting part to the recessed part spreading over the two. SOLUTION: On an intermediate coat part 25 of a building plate 1, a projecting part-coat part 26 is formed by a roll coater at a projecting part 4 only. On an edge part 4a on the projecting part-coat part 26 and part of the down gradient part 6 and the up gradient part 7 in the intermediate coat part 25 following it, a gradient coat part 27 is further formed. That is, part of the gradient coat part 27 comes to the edge part 4a of the projecting part 4 and also in the down gradient part 6 and the up gradient part 7, and coating is applied to part of the way lending to a bottom part 3a of a recessed part 3. Then color of the part is made a little darker than that of the projecting part- coat part 26. As a result, three-dimensional coating having good reproducibility and rich in stability can be obtained, and by changing work conditions only, three-dimensional coating in accordance with each pattern can be realized. |

A multi-dimensional image is obtained in a substantially flat surface covering by aligning the platelets of a platey material in the optical surface of the surface covering parallel to the exposed surface of the surface covering and realigning predetermined platelets to a predetermined angle with respect to the original alignment. The platelets can be realigned by pressing a gelled transparent or translucent element into the platey material containing layer or by mechanically embossing the platey material containing layer. |

PURPOSE: To provide a display capable of displaying an image having depth and metallic glossy appearance through multicolor plate printing and a method for preparing that image. CONSTITUTION: The image of a 1st pattern is formed on a transparent plastic substitute and a substitute by multicolor plate printing with a lot of small data of color ink made transparent in visible light and the 2nd pattern of opaque ink dots is printed on the selected area of image so that the appearance of desired depth can be obtained. Further, a reflection layer for reflecting light is accumulated on the 1st and 2nd patterns so that the metallic appearance can be provided on the part of the 2nd pattern by the relative difference of the glosses the area covered with the 2nd pattern and the area accumulated with opaque ink dots. |

PURPOSE: To obtain a surface cover product having a visibly transparent or translucent layer to provide unique visual action by arranging micro-plates of a third region at a predetermined angle with respect to the row of micro- plates of a second region and smoothing the exposed surface of the decorative cover surface adjacent to an optical surface. CONSTITUTION: A decorative surface cover having a markedly registered image is produced by applying a transparent vinyl abrasion layer 6. The upper part of a platy material-containing layer 3 having micro-plates arranged on the upper surface thereof forms a first region on the optical surface of the surface cover. When the part of the first region containing micro-plates adjacent to the main surface of the platy material-containing layer is considered as a second region and the part adjacent to the non-horizontal surface of an element is considered as a third region, the micro-plates in the third region are arranged at a constant angle with respect to those in the second region. |

PURPOSE: To improve the optical effect of a material by arranging a filmy element, in which a three-dimensional effect is changed, into a support under a desired state.
CONSTITUTION: An uncured epoxy resin 3 as a support is introduced to a mold arranged to a water bath up to a fixed level. A material in which external force is applied to a film piece 2 as a desired element and surface sections 4a, 4b having mutually different inclinations or other surface sections 5a, 5b having a different shape are formed is arranged to the surface of the epoxy resin 3 or into the resin, and the epoxy resin 3 is cured and the film piece 2 is fixed at the position. A process in which a liquid epoxy resin is injected and the film piece 2 is assembled is repeated, and a surface is finished additionally by glass 7 as required, so that the optically effective material 1 is formed.

PURPOSE: To obtain a patterned metallized film without necessitating any material or printing ink other than a metal coating, by forming a pattern out of numerous minute discontinuous fissures or cracks in the metal coating on a macromolecular film. CONSTITUTION: A patterned metallized film 10 is constituted of a transparent or translucent macromolecular film 14 of which one surface is coated with a metal coating 16. The metal coating 16 has numerous cracks of various sizes distributed throughout the coating by heating a plurality of selected areas thereof at different rates, and the reflection of light from the cracked metal coating brings about a three-dimensional illusion of a prescribed pattern when this is viewed through the macromolecular film. The macromolecular film 14 has an adhesive layer 18 selected from a group comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive, a solvent activation adhesive and a heat activation adhesive on the surface on the opposite side of the metal coating 16 thereto and has a paper backing sheet 20 on the surface of the adhesive layer. |

PURPOSE: To provide a decoration strip of excellent appearance and durability provided with three-dimensional effect by laminating a metallized film, a transparent upper layer, and a transparent coating layer on an upper surface of a base in this order, and providing a specified marking between the upper layer and the coating layer. CONSTITUTION: A decoration strip 10 is installed on a part of a side bumper in an automobile, for example, and a specified marking 24 is integrally formed inside it. In this case, the decoration strip 10 is formed by laminating a number of layers. A base 16, a metallized film 18, a transparent upper layer 20, and a transparent coating layer 22 are laminated from the lower side in order. A marking 24 is substantially disposed between the upper layer 20 and the coating layer 22. In manufacturing this decoration strip 10, the upper layer is heat-laminated on aluminum polyester film 18, the marking 24 is provided on an upper surface 26 of the upper layer 20, and after a laminated body of these is laminated on the base 16, the coating layer 22 is laminated on the laminted body. |
