There is disclosed a method and apparatus for making a looped label and accumulating labels in a stack. An intermediate portion of the label (L) is inserted into the nip of a pair of rotating rolls (56,57) which fold or loop the label into two side-by-side or face-to-face label portions. The looped label is transported between the nip of a pair of pressing rolls (62,63) which press or iron the label at the fold line while the label is stationary between the rolls to maintain the label in the folded condition. From there the label is passed into a stacker in which successively looped labels are stacked.

70 Method for manufacturing extended content booklet labels US14833060 2015-08-22 US09802379B2 2017-10-31 Stephen W. DeLise, Jr.
A method of manufacturing an extended content booklet label. Sheets are parallel folded to form a spine of a multi-up book log. The book log is overlaminated with an overlaminate to a major web having a longitudinal direction so that the spine is oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the web. The major web is continuously moved passed three or more longitudinally aligned cutting elements. Each cutting element cuts deeper than the previous cutting element for progressively slitting the major label web and overlaminated multi-up book log in the longitudinal direction only to form two or more minor webs.
71 Method for manufacturing extended content booklet labels US14623618 2015-02-17 US09449534B2 2016-09-20 Stephen W. DeLise, Jr.
A method for manufacturing an instructional booklet mounted on a substrate. A multi-up book log is provided having two or more booklets and a waste zone that share a common spine. The book log is adhered to an overlaminate and progressively slit to form overlaminate strips having booklets adhered thereto. The overlaminate is applied to a substrate with the booklets retained therebetween. The overlaminate and substrate are die cut around the booklets.
72 Method for manufacturing extended content booklet labels US14083678 2013-11-19 US09114657B2 2015-08-25 Stephen W. DeLise, Jr.
A method of manufacturing an extended content booklet label. A multi-up book includes folds that are parallel to the book's spine. The multi-up book is disposed on the label web and held in place by an overlaminate. The overlaminate, book log and labels are all pre-trimmed in the longitudinal direction. The web is moved passed cutting elements to progressively slit the web and trim the major web into minor webs in which the overlaminate, booklets and labels are trimmed in the width direction to have a common edge.
73 METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING EXTENDED CONTENT BOOKLET LABELS US14623618 2015-02-17 US20150161917A1 2015-06-11 Stephen W.
74 Method and apparatus for forming fan-folded web of labels with improved registration US13352491 2012-01-18 US08939877B2 2015-01-27 Neil C. Waldrop; Jeffrey S. Morris
An off line apparatus for converting a rolled web into a fan-fold web and method of fan folding a web is described. The apparatus has a creasing station capable of receiving the web at a feed rate. The creasing station has a first die roller, wherein the first die roller comprises a first blade and a first cushion, and a second die roller. A coupling mechanism synchronizes rotation of the rollers such that the first blade engages the second cushion and the second blade engages the first cushion during one each rotation. A reader determines the location of a gap between the labels. A controller receives the location of the gap from said reader and communication with a drive mechanism to adjust the rotation rate such that the first blade and the second cushion engage.
75 RESEALABLE MULTI-PLY LABEL CONSTRUCTION US12722229 2010-03-11 US20110223368A1 2011-09-15 Robert C. Zietlow; Patrick A. Young
Resealable multi-ply labels include a base label ply and an overlaminate for capturing onserts between them. The base label plies carry an adhesive layer on the bottom surface for mounting the resealable multi-ply labels to articles. The base plies each include a hinge area, an attachment area, a tab area, and an intermediate area separating the hinge area from the attachment area. The overlaminates form permanent bonds with both the hinge areas and the tab areas of the base plies and form reusable bonds with the attachment areas of the base plies. The permanently bonded tab areas of the base plies provide access for releasing the overlaminates from the attachment areas of the base plies and exposing the onserts.
76 EXTENDED TEXT SHRINK SLEEVE US12782195 2010-05-18 US20100307947A1 2010-12-09 Donna MARDEN; Craig CLARK
A resealable extended text film panel system. The resealable extended text film panel comprises a shrink sleeve portion and a film text panel. The shrink sleeve portion is integral with the film text panel so that the film text panel is not readily removed from the shrink sleeve portion. A seam is formed between the integral shrink sleeve portion and a first end of the film text panel that delineates the film text panel from the shrink sleeve portion. A resealable strip is affixed to an edge of the film text panel. This resealable strip permits the film text panel to cooperate with the shrink sleeve portion, allowing the film text panel to be unsealed and sealed to the shrink sleeve portion a plurality of times, allowing the printable material on the shrink sleeve portion and on the film text panel to be read by a user as frequently as desired. The resealable strip can be applied to the film text panel or to a portion of the shrink sleeve portion underlying the film text panel. A method of forming the resealable extended text film panel system is also provided.
