PCT No. PCT/AU81/00061 Sec. 371 Date Jan. 8, 1982 Sec. 102(e) Date Jan. 8, 1982 PCT Filed May 19, 1981 PCT Pub. No. WO81/03284 PCT Pub. Date Nov. 26, 1981.A tape (6) for forming a hand grip (8) on the handle of sporting equipment, hand tools and the like including a method and serrated tool for making the tape. Hand grips on the handle of such devices become wet and slippery from perspiration, however, the present tape minimizes the problem. The tape (6) has upper and lower surfaces provided with substantially complementary longitudinally extending ridges (10) and grooves (9). The serrated tool has a front face (20), a rear face (21) and a cutting edge (22) comprising teeth (23). The method involves rotation of a disc of material relative to the serrated tool to peel tape (6) from the disc. A hand grip (8) may be formed from the tape (6) by helically winding the tape onto the handle portion.

A method of cutting a tie wrap, bound about at least one wire, using a cutting tool is provided. The method comprising steps of: applying a housing of the cutting tool to the tie wrap, positioning a portion of the tie wrap within a first groove of the housing between first two opposing sidewalls and second two opposite sidewalls of the housing, moving the at least one wire and maintaining the at least one wire a distance away from the tie wrap, moving a circular blade of the cutting tool against the portion of the tie wrap, positioned within the first groove, and at least partially cutting the tie wrap with the circular blade. In some examples, the method further comprises controlling a depth of the circular blade within the tie wrap while the circular blade at least partially cuts the tie wrap.
197 | Monofilament line cutting tool | US15203111 | 2016-07-06 | US10099394B2 | 2018-10-16 | Steven P Bermes; Jay R Wehrle |
A monofilament line cutting tool is formed by sandwiching a cutting blade between first and second plastic sheets which are thermally bonded to one another. A monofilament line receiving slot in the plastic sheets extends to the blade whereby monofilament line bent into a U-shape may be placed in contact with the blade cutting edge. The plastic sheets are part of spool forming plastic sheet portions which are thermally bonded to one another and shaped into a spool. The plastic sheets forming the tool are selectively pivotable about a live hinge relative to the spool. The plastic sheets can be separated from one another for forming: a sphere generally around the cutting edge; a pair of elongate barrels extending parallel along each side of the monofilament line receiving slot and adjacent the cutting edge; or, a monofilament line receiving cavity extending to the blade cutting edge.

A support core includes a tube body for holding a device in an expanded state, a low-friction film disposed over an outer surface of the tube body, and a fixing device for holding the film in place, the fixing device comprising a loop of tape wrapped longitudinally over the film and through the tube body, or a tab on the film that is affixed to the tube body. To remove the tube body, the tape and/or film are cut so that the film can slide towards the front end of the tube body, and the tube body is then pulled out of the device.
199 | Optical fiber stripper | US14279772 | 2014-05-16 | US09958610B2 | 2018-05-01 | Yangri Zhao |
An optical fiber stripper includes handles, two stripping blades and an optical fiber positioning reference block, on which optical fiber jacket stripping sub-channel, covered wire/cable jacket stripping sub-channel, and bare fiber coating stripping sub-channel are disposed in parallel, and the stripping blade, respectively, contains optical fiber jacket stripping port, first port, and sharp-angle port. The present invention can be used to strip various layers through the ports on the stripping blades, to ensure that the optical fiber is not broken when stripping optical fiber, and to prevent optical fiber surface from attaching to debris, so that the optical fiber jointing efficiency is improved greatly.
