PURPOSE: To facilitate to efficiently take out inner nut without injuring, by charging a seed having rigid shell into an outer tube, injecting compressed air into the outer tube, rapidly pressing the seed in a seed injecting pipe support plug and dashing the seed against the center hole of a plate so as to crush the hard shell. CONSTITUTION: A seed having hard shell such as pine nut, etc., is charged into a hopper 3 and dropped into a outer tube 1 through a groove of a seed receiving plate 18 and seed discharging tube 2. Then a cock 10 of an air injecting pipe 5 is opened and compressed air is injected from a small hole 4 for air injection of air injecting pipe support plug 7 into the outer tube to rapidly press the seed in a funnel form of a seed injecting pipe support plug 14. When the seed is pressed, the seed is rapidly passed though the seed injecting pipe 13 and dashed to the center hole of the plate 12 while rotating the tip of the seed in the progressive direction, since the air hits the lengthwise creases of the seed. PURPOSE: To carry out the classification and the cracking of fruits having hard shell, in high efficiency, by forwarding the fruits linearly and horizontally, allowing to drop spontaneously in order of size, and clamping the fruit with a pair of rollers placed in the same vertical place as the line of transfer and forming a tapered gap between the rolls. CONSTITUTION: A pair of classification rolls 11, 12 and a pair of cracking rolls 16 are arranged vertically. The gap between the rolls of each roll pair is made to be broader at the tip than at the base, and the directions of the gaps of the roll pairs are made to be the same. A spiral ridge 13 is protruded from the surface of one of the classification rolls, and the gap between the cracking rolls 16 at an arbitrary position is made to be smaller than the gap between the classification rolls placed just above the cracking rolls. The cracking rolls 16 are rotated around their own axes along the direction to effect the biting of the fruit. The fruits are preliminarily classified by size, and are pressed with the cracking rolls having a gap corresponding to the size of the fruit. Accordingly, the classification and cracking of the fruit can be carried out in high efficiency. A controller(40) controls the first transfer conveyor, hulling drum, hulling rollers and the second transfer conveyor respectively. A first hulling roller(22) consists of a drive hulling roller(22b) and a driven hulling roller(22c). The first transfer conveyor includes a plurality of conveyor belts installed at some distance from each other in a width direction so that the walnuts are inputted into the hulling unit.
