PURPOSE: To ensure higher productivity by positioning a guiding plate with a connecting wire, inserting a filling wire into plural holes that are positioned parallelly to the guiding plate, and inserting the wire into the opening of the wire jointed-band by means of a conveyor roller. CONSTITUTION: The end of a connecting wire 5 projecting at the edge of a wire jointed-band 2 is inserted into the guiding groove 21 of a guiding plate 13, with a press pad 22 faced downward, held and fixed, so that the positioning of the guiding plate 13 is completed. With a filling wire 9 inserted into plural inserting holes 14, it is accurately positioned at the opening 15 of the wire jointed-band 2. A conveyor roller 18 is lowered, brought into contact with the filling wire 9 exposed at the opening 15, rotated, sent in the direction 11 and pushed into the band 2. Since the filling wire 9 and the connecting wire 5 are simultaneously made insertable, production efficiency can be enhanced.

PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance and ensure beauty of external appearance and function of band for a long time by forming a metallic film on the surface of a metallic wire, heating at high temperature, and forming to a mesh band for watch after providing a diffusion layer on the surface of a element wire. CONSTITUTION:A metallic film 2 of Ni, Cr, Pd, Au etc. is formed on a mesh band element wire 1 and heated in nonoxidizing atmospher at a temperature above recrystallization temperature of the wire 1 to provide a diffusion layer 3 on the surface of the wire 1. Then, the wire 1 is woven to make a mesh, cut and formed to the shape of a band. After finishing the surface, finish plating is made with Au-Ni etc. By this way, generation of rust from inside of the band can be prevented.

A coating for jewellery, costume jewellery, furnishing items and in general for personal use items, consisting of a flexible plait (1) of metal wires, in the form of a flexible sheet (2) or of a flexible sleeve (3).

The flexible nature of the coating of the invention allows to apply the plait (1) with rapid and simple operations, having recourse to tools which are normally available in jewellery laboratories or household furnishing tapestry laboratories. In this manner, there are obtained common and personal use items, which are made more resistant to wear and more precious by the metal wire plait forming the coating of the invention.

14 Method of manufacturing unique jewelry and article formed therefrom EP97301774.2 1997-03-17 EP0809954A1 1997-12-03 Gusky, Michael

A length of wire mesh or woven wire type of "fabric" (20) of a width and length corresponding generally to the proportions of the jewelry chain to be created is provided whereon a series of hollow link sections (S) are received such that the interior surfaces of the links surround the mesh. The links (S) are arranged in end-to-end abutting relationship upon the mesh (20) until the length of chain desired is reached. Upper and lower die members (12,14) are brought into contact with the preformed chain. The contour of the operating surfaces of the upper and lower dies (12,14) may be of any desired ornamentation, as the finished chain conforms thereto, and at least one (18) of the working surfaces of the upper and/or lower dies (12,14) is provided with an ornamenting pattern which forms a corresponding embossed expression in at least part of one surface of the chain (20).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a packing and packing material which can keep satisfactory sealability for a long time even under a high temperature condition. SOLUTION: Packing material is provided in a following manner. One or plural hard metal wires and one or plural soft metal wires are collected to a bundle or twisted together to form a weft material 3, with the ratio of numbers of the hard and soft metal wires being 1:1 to 1:0.3. Weft knitting is carried out on the weft material 3, by for instance, plain stitch, rib stitch, pearl stitch, tuck stitch, float stitch, half cardigan stitch, full cardigan stitch, plating stitch, and interlock stitch. Brinell hardness of the hard metal wire ranges 90 and 240 kg/mm2, while Brinell hardness of the soft metal wire ranges between 40 and 55 kg/mm2. A packing is formed by winding this strip-like packing material in a ring-like form, and pressurizingly molding it in an axial direction of a wound body.

PURPOSE: To provide a metal wire structure which guarantees a permanent fixation of internal prosthesis, by giving the metal structure an aperture structure which allows good extension of bone tissue and gives relatively high elasticity in motion and its manufacture method. CONSTITUTION: This metal wire structure for internal prosthesis is composed of a sintered hollow network formation (1) comprising elastic metal wires (D1-D8). The network formation (1) is preferably made in the 'reed milanese' form. The metal wire structure is used as a cover material for prosthesis, or as a bone substitute piece after sintered together. The mesh size of the metal wire structure is adjustable to the conditions of affected part, and establishes a good fixation to the bone, while the elasticity of the mesh gives proper transition from the internal prosthesis to the bone.
