A pull-type crop engaging machine such as a rotary mower comprises a frame mounted on transversely spaced field ground wheels for movement with a hitch arm extending to a tractor and a transport assembly attached behind the frame for moving downwardly to a transport position so that in the transport position the hitch arm extends from one end of the frame generally in the transverse direction for towing the machine in the transverse direction. The transport includes a transport ground wheel which acts to raise the frame to pass underneath the crop engaging system to support the machine on the wheel, on a second wheel behind the frame and on the hitch. The movement of the hitch and the wheel is connected and started at a position of the hitch so that the machine remains balanced. A shield behind the frame includes a portion which moves with the transport wheel.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein landwirtschaftliches Gerät, insbesondere für Erntemaschinen wie Ladewagen, Pressen oder selbstfahrende Erntegutaufnehmer, mit mindestens einer Erfassungseinrichtung zur berührungslosen Erfassung einer Erntegutschwad- und/oder Bodeneigenschaft, insbesondere Höhe, Breite und/oder Kontur zumindest eines Schwads und/oder eines Bodenabschnitts, die mehrere berührungslos arbeitende Abtastsensoren zur Abtastung des Schwads und/oder des Bodenabschnitts sowie eine Auswerteeinheit zur Bestimmung der Erntegutschwad- und/oder Bodeneigenschaft aus den mehreren Signalen der Abtastsensoren aufweist. Erfindungsgemäß zeichnet sich das Gerät durch eine Steuervorrichtung zur Aktivierung der verschiedenen Abtastsensoren nach einer vorbestimmten Zeitabfolge aus derart, dass einander mit ihren Abtastsignalen überlappende und/oder beeinflussende Abtastsensoren nur wechselweise in verschiedenen Zeitfenstern aktiviert werden. Es werden also bei der Abtastung durch einen ersten Sensor bzw. eine erste Gruppe von Sensoren den Messvorgang störende Abtastsensoren ausgeblendet. Durch dieses zeitlich wechselweise Abtasten des Schwads bzw. Bodenabschnitts können die Abtastsensoren zur vollständigen, signalschattenfreien Abtastung des Schwads bzw. Bodenabschnitts optimal angeordnet werden, insbesondere mit einander überlappenden Abtastbereichen und/oder zueinander gegenläufigen und/oder zueinander gegenläufig geneigten Abtastrichtungen, wobei dennoch eine störungsfreie Messsignalaufnahme durch die einzelnen Abtastsensoren gewährleistet ist.

Each wheel arrangement has a plurality of pivotable wheel assemblies arranged in-line and wheel linkages (108,110) coupling the in-line wheel assemblies such that in-line wheel assemblies oscillate together. A right-to-left linkage (112) couples the wheel linkage of the first in-line wheel arrangement to the wheel linkage of the second in-line wheel arrangement so that the first in-line wheel arrangement oscillates at a steering angle proportional to that of the second in-line wheel arrangement.

Cameras are affixed to the front of the forward bogey looking to the side of the forward bogey, to the front of the rear bogey looking rearwardly into the rear bogey grain storage, to the rear of the rear bogey, and on the grain arm discharge end. Readout from the sensors are fed to memory for each type of grain off-loading vehicle for later use by the operator in placing the combine in the optimum unloading position. Video also is fed to a display confronting the combine operator.

A pivot switch mounts to the arm extension, activated by the rotation of the pivot tab on the pivoting of the pivot block about the guide hinge. With the opening and closing of the pivot switch, either a hard-wired or a wireless remote console on the towed vehicle controls the steering mechanism of the remote tractor, guiding the direction of travel of the remote tractor.
