The present invention relates to a driving rail for a train toy. The driving rail inducing the train toy to drive in a straight line and a curved line includes piece rails, each formed in one piece, and connectors connecting and coupling the piece rails to each other. The piece rail has one both sides opposite to each other and parallel with each other, and the other both sides opposite to each other and inclined at the same grade, and thus has a trapezoid shape of which one side is long and the other side is short. A straight rail as well as a curved rail can be formed with the one piece simply and easily, the hassle of making the rail can be removed, and manufacturing costs can be reduced, by consecutively arranging the long and short sides of piece rails alternately and coupling and assembling the piece rails with connectors in a section inducing linear driving, and consecutively arranging the short sides of piece rails and coupling and assembling the piece rails with connectors in a section inducing curved driving.

A multi-purpose surface covering for interactive play and display is disclosed. The play or display environment, or surfacescape, is created by the user by combining the various components of the invention. The components interact so that they may be scaled to various sizes for use on floors, walls, table or counter tops, or other surfaces, and can be assembled outward as well as upward for play or display in multi-dimensional settings. As a play environment, it provides a set of easily interchangeable components that allow an unlimited number of colors, textures, shapes, and articles to be incorporated into the system. When displayed horizontally or vertically, this invention provides the capacity for interchangeable display of inserts, which may include but is not limited to artwork, advertising indicia, educational material (numbers, letters, etc.), instructional information, notices, or an infinite number of other materials which can be readily and changeably viewed.

The present invention provides for a plurality of interconnectable modular members that may create a pathway system with multiple entrances into the upper portion of each member and at least one exit from the lower portion of each member, thereby providing for a variety of convergence and divergence possibilities. The pathway system is suitable for receiving and transporting marbles and other spherical objects from one member to another. The modular members may be interlinked via male/female connectors to create a variety of configurations.

The present invention is directed to an interactive intelligent toy that provides the appearance and experience of a person, animal, vehicle, or other character moving in, and/or interacting with, its environment or habitat on its own. In one embodiment, a motive component simulating the appearance of a person, animal, vehicle or other character comprises a drive mechanism to move the motive component, a control mechanism and a power source. The control mechanism is programmed to monitor and detect user and event inputs, and to detect and decode embedded codes in a pathway component and perform predetermined actions or generate predetermined sounds in response to the inputs and codes. In another embodiment, the motive component engages with a coupling component and supplies the drive mechanism and power source for moving both the motive component and the coupling component. In yet another embodiment, the motive component is adapted to perform certain actions upon contact with, or becoming in proximity to, an auxiliary component. The invention therefore provides a simulated character that appears to have a mind of its own in operating within a certain environment. |

A continuous loop toy vehicle trackset (11) supports a booster (30) and a plurality of toy vehicles (40 and 50). The trackset is formed of spaced apart track rails forming a gap (15) therebetween. The toy vehicles are open wheeled and able to roll upon the track rails in either a right side up or inverted configuration. In the inverted configuration, the top surface of the toy vehicle is able to extend into the gap between the track rails. A staging lane (37) facilitates introduction of additional toy vehicles to the trackset (11).

A generally rectangular base (11) supports a pair of gateways (23-26) at two corners thereof and a pair of resiliently powered impact-responsive rebounders (90 and 100) at the remaining two corners thereof. A flat surface (12) extends between the rebounders and the gateways. A pair of toy vehicle launchers (70 and 80) and track segments (62 and 63) are operatively coupled to each of the gateways to launch toy vehicles (20) therethrough. A plurality of elastic bands (45-56) extend between the gateways to provide resilient boundaries for the rectangular base. The rebounders and the gateways include pivotal supports (60 and 61) allowing the track segments and launchers as well as the rebounders to be pivoted for aiming purposes. A toy vehicle launched by a launcher traverses its track segment and enters its gateway. Thereafter, it strikes either a resilient boundary or a rebounder and is deflected accordingly. An additional toy vehicle launched from the second launcher may collide or otherwise interact with the first launched toy vehicle. |
