PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accelerating and decelerating a player on an amusement vehicle. SOLUTION: A piston 3 is slidably mounted in a housing hole 2. A cable 9 connected to the piston 3 passes through the housing hole 2, a first aperture 4 near a first end of housing 1, round a first pulley 14, along the outer face of housing 1, through a second aperture 6 near a second end of housing 1, again through the housing hole 2, enters into the piston 3, and the second end of cable 9 is connected to the first end of cable 9. A carrier 9 is combined with the cable 9 such that the carrier 16 is positioned near the second end of housing 1 when the piston 3 is close to the first end of housing 1. Pressure gas is introduced into the housing hole 2, near the first end of housing 1, or near the second end of housing 1.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a seated player to have sensory illusion of altitude so as to enjoy a falling thrill, by arranging a number of illuminators along the vertical direction in front of a seat to ascend and descend and flashing those illuminators orderly in one direction upward or downward. SOLUTION: A player P is seated on a bench seat in a cabin to ascend or descend and wears a stereoscopic headphone. Together with sound through the headphone, flashing light of PAR lights 51 with ascending acceleration in front comes into player's eyes. Since the lights 51 flash orderly in the downward direction, the player P has and illusion of ascending at a speed larger than the actual ascending speed. When the player passed over the lights 51, the cabin makes a halt and the player has an illusion as if he/she is in an extremely high story. Next, the cabin is once slightly fallen and ascended again, then freely fallen. Since this falling together with orderly upward flashing of the lights 51 makes the player have an illusion of a faster descending speed to terrify the player, the player can enjoy a thrill.

PURPOSE: To obtain an accelerating and decelerating device of participants of a amusement device by accelerating a piston which freely travels along the length of a housing hole by the pressure of compressed gas and quickly accelerating participants connected to the piston via a carrier with a cable. CONSTITUTION: An accelerating/decelerating device of objects includes a housing 1 with a hole 2, and a piston 3 is slide-freely installed in the hole 2 so as to freely travel along the length of the hole 2. A cable 6 is passed through an aperture 5 provided at the first end part 4 of the housing 1, and the aperture 5 is arranged closer to the end part 4 than the piston 3 is. One end of the cable 6 is fixed to the piston 3, and the cable 6 is looped over the first guiding pulley 7 after being derived out of the housing 1 and is next connected to a carrier 8 for one or a plurality of participants. In the case of wanting to accelerate a participant 9 rapidly, the piston 3 is rapidly accelerated in a distancing direction from the first end part 4 by introducing a depressing fluid into the hole 2 through a jet valve 11. The lever, wheel and axle, pulley, wedge, screw, and inclined plane are the six Simple Machines of the Classical era. Over 2000 years ago a man from Syracuse used them to create a way to move water against the pull of gravity. The Archimedes' screw is still a standard for simple efficiency. In homage to those early machines and the dreamers who built them, the Human Flying Apparatus provides a carriage, wheels and an axle, a harness, and a braking and steering system and, in specific embodiments, thrusters, all suspended from a single rail, which allows a human being to soar in simulated flight that is safe, sustained, and suitable for all skill levels.“For once you have tasted flight, you will walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you long to return.”Leonardo Da Vinci
