164 Method for operating incubator JP2000380644 2000-12-14 JP2001190606A 2001-07-17 SCHUELER HANS-ULRICH
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating an incubator particularly suitable for a predetermined nursing type 'kangaroo cure'. SOLUTION: A process is operated by using an input element at a time point t0. A heater is regulated with respect to a temperature measured by a first temperature sensor in an incubator room by a measuring and control unit. In this case, the temperature measured in the chamber at preceding time sections t0 to t1 is used as the target value of the temperature in the chamber. The patient's skin temperature detected by a second temperature sensor is compared with upper/lower temperature limit value previously adjusted for the skin temperature in the unit. If the skin temperature exceeds or lowers the limit value, an alarm is given by the unit. A warning circuit for opening the incubator and giving an alarm with respect to the temperature change in the chamber in association with the opening of the incubator is eliminated to be operated at time sections t2 to t0 following to the point t0 and the process is eliminated by using the element at the point t3. 165 Actuating mechanism for heater door for infant caring apparatus JP2000147766 2000-05-19 JP2001008984A 2001-01-16 JONES THOMAS C; HACKIN H MICHAEL
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infant caring apparatus that has a mechanism to open and close the door of a heater automatically. SOLUTION: An infant caring apparatus 10 consists of an infant stand 14 to let an infant lie asleep, a vertical part 32 that extends upward from the stand, and a housing that is attached to the vertical part and that cases a heater 60 which can move near the stand between the lower and upper positions along the vertical part 32. The heater 60 has at least one door 38 that can move between the releasing position at which the heater is exposed and another releasing position at which the heater is sheltered in the housing. The infant caring apparatus also has a door moving mechanism 102 that releases the door when the heater 60 moves from the lower position toward the upper position and shutters the door when the heater 60 moves from the upper position to the lower position.
166 Radiation heater of warmer for toddler JP2000139777 2000-05-12 JP2000354614A 2000-12-26 JONES THOMAS C
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for a toddler care equipped with an overhead infrared ray heater which uniformly applies heat to a toddler. SOLUTION: This apparatus for a toddler care or warmer for a toddler care has a radiation heater 38 as a heat source, and the radiation heater has a reflector having a shape of a rotating quadratic surface comprising an oval surface or a hyperbola. By such a shape of the rotating quadratic surface, the heater can feed heat which is sufficient to warm a toddler, under a state being attached to the upper section of the apparatus for a toddler care so that it may not become an obstacle for a carer. The infrared ray energy radiation source is substantially arranged at the focal point of the geometrical shape of the reflector so that the radiation energy may be reflected to a toddler who is laid on a flat surface under the heater. Although the radiation heater is arranged in a manner not to become an obstacle for the toddler and the carer, heat is applied to the toddler by a uniform radiation pattern as a whole body.
167 Mechanism for lifting canopy of child care apparatus JP2000148566 2000-05-19 JP2000350751A 2000-12-19 JONES THOMAS C
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a canopy to move in the vertical direction against a childbed in which an infant is laid. SOLUTION: A canopy 12 contains a radiator movable from the lower position, in which an infant is contained in an infant compartment to the upper position, in which the infant compartment is opened. The canopy 12 is fixed to a movable frame member 34. The movable frame member 34 is mounted on a fixed frame member 32. The fixed frame member 32 is connected with the movable frame member 34 one another using constant force springs. The constant force springs are designed so as to remove an action produced by applying the weight of the canopy 12 and other components and achieve the balance of the canopy 12 and the related other components. Thereby, the canopy can be lifted by using reasonable standard motors without making two motors synchronize complicatedly, and a unit can be moved smoothly without eccentricity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cross contamination of an infant by equipping a tilting mechanism to make an infant bed into a desired tilt angle against the bed and an actuator mechanism thereof and placing the actuator mechanism in an infant isolation chamber. SOLUTION: An infant isolation chamber 22 is formed in between a hood 14 and a base 12 and an infant bed 20 equipped with an infant mattress 23 is placed therein. The infant bed 20 is attached on a pivot point 24 and enabled to tilt right and left around the pivot point 24. A fast pitch parent screw 26 is connected to the infant bed 20 and extended downward through a screw nut 28 attached on the base 12. Thus the infant bed 20 can be easily tilted to a desired position by a small force. An inner actuator mechanism 30 is equipped to enable the tilting mechanism to be energized to be re-positioned into a desired angle and re-fixed by a user. Thus a user can operate the tilting mechanism without putting hands out from the infant isolation chamber 22 to prevent contamination of the half aseptic condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily clean both a water storage part and a heating part for generating steam and to improve easiness not only in use but also in maintenance. SOLUTION: Since only water supplied from a water storage part 34 to a heating part 35 is heated, the generation of steam can be started in a short time from the start of heating although steam can be continuously generated for a long time even when water is supplied a few times. Further, since the water storage part 34 and heating part 35 in connected state can be freely attached and detached to a supporting part, both the water storage part 34 and the heating part 35 can be completely separated from the supporting part and both the water storage part 34 and the heating part 35 can be easily cleaned.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arbitrarily regulate the inclination angle of a lying bed sharper than the conventional angle without deviating the longitudinal position of the lying bed when vertically moving the lying bed by improving a heat insulation effect by forming air laminar flow areas on three sidewalls of the inner surface of a hood at least. SOLUTION: This incubator is provided with an incubation chamber 14 for housing a baby on a main body 12, a plurality of blow-out ports 22 for forming the air laminar flow areas along with the walls of the incubation chamber 14 in communication with an air condition part inside the main body 12 while distributedly existing along with the incubation chamber 14 and near three sides of a partition plate 15 for partitioning the air conditioning parts, sucking ports 26 formed near one remaining side of the partition plate 15 for letting air in the incubation chamber 14 flow into the air conditioning part. An inner wall for supporting the formation of air laminar flow areas is attached on the wall of the incubation chamber 14 so as to be freely attached/ detached only unidirectionally. Further, the incubator is equipped with the partition plate 15 freely attachable and detachable to the main body 12, elevating mechanism 60 attached to this partition plate 15 so as not to deviate the longitudinal position at the time of elevation, and lying bed 17 freely attachably and detachably fitted to the elevating mechanism 60.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control temperature securing the capacity to humidify the inside of an incubator, by inputting information of the temperature in the inside of the incubator and information of water temperature in a water tank for humidifying and controlling a second heater so as to the water temperature in the water tank for humidifying. SOLUTION: An outputted signal of a vessel temperature sensor 57 and an outputted signal of a temperature sensor 39 to measure the temperature of water tank are transmitted to an MPU 55, and the MPU 55 stores subroutines to control a heater 37 to warm the water tank for humidifying through a semiconductor relay and a heater 37 to warm circulating air in a built-in ROM. Besides, the MPU 55 controls the output of heater 47 so as to give the predetermined vessel inside temperature, and also stores in the built-in ROM a subroutine to control output of the heater 37 of the water tank for humidifying responding to the inside temperature at that time, referring a lock up table showing the relation between the vessel inside temperature and the water tank temperature stored in the built-in ROM or an RAM. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable automatically maintaining of a baby at any selected angle of tilt by a method wherein a linkage is moved sideways by the operation of a hand knob to be converted to a rotary motion of a bend rod through a lever arm and a bed for the baby is moved upward or sideways by turning a lead screw to select the angle of inclination. SOLUTION: When an operator turns a hand knob 58 in the direction of the arrow C, a lead screw 54 is rotated to move a lead screw slide 46 sideways along a slide screw slide bearing 50 and a link 42 also moves sideways in the direction of the arrow B. With the lateral movement of the link 42, a key 34 turns in the direction of the arrow D by an offset distance of a lever arm 38. When the key 34 turns, a link part with a bend rod 28 rotates the bend rod 28 along the axis of rotation and as the bend rod 28 is fitted into a long and thin hole 26 of a bed lifter 20, the bed lifter 20 is rotated thereby raising or lowering a bed for the baby according to the direction of turning the hand knob 58. 176 Heated humidifier for incubator JP14703395 1995-06-14 JPH07328077A 1995-12-19 DEIBUITSUDO EI GUROIDO; EMIIGUDEIO EI URIBE; ROBAATO JIEI KOOKU; HARII II BERUSHINGAA JIYUNIA
PURPOSE: To make it possible to humidify air fully and cost-effectively to be sent to a compartment for babies, by providing a heating means to transfer heat to a heat-exchanging means, generating steam through heating by a heat exchanger which extends to the underside of water surface, and introducing the steam to an air flow passing from an inlet to an outlet to humidify the air flow. CONSTITUTION: Heated air sent from an incubator system for babies is introduced into a heating type humidifier 44 from an inlet opening 58, and passes out the humidifier 44 from an outlet opening 60 along the water surface of a water tank 52. When the heated air passes through the humidifier 44, it takes in steam generated on the water surface of water 82 to be humidified, and gets out from the humidifier 44. The surface of water 82 is heated to promote generation of the steam by plural fins extending downward in the water 82 at a part of a heat exchanger 64, and the heat exchanger 64 itself is heated by an electric heater 70 set up on the water surface. And, the steam is contained in a very small volumetric capacity, and picked up instantly by the heated air passing through along an individual passage, to humidify fully the air passing through in an arrow A direction.
