PURPOSE: To provide a cutting/connecting unit which operates on a considerably short leader and which can reach the outgoing/incoming opening of a cassette through a straight path without a fault. CONSTITUTION: The cutting/connecting unit 1 is placed in front of a front panel 5 and it is provided with a magnetic tape 22, the guide part of the leader protruded from the outgoing/incoming opening of the cassette first, second and third blocks 16, 17 and 21. The second and third blocks are orthogonal with the outgoing/incoming opening and are independently arranged near the first block through movement parallel to the front panel. A grasping member 34 passes above the approximated block so that it can grasp the piece 27a of an adhesive tape 27 from a supply unit 26 in front of the front panel. A blade 19a fixed to the grasping member cuts the leader or the magnetic tape in parallel to the respective blocks. Thus, the adhesive tapes in cut areas are connected by simultaneously raising the respective blocks.
144 Cassette loading device JP2283590 1990-01-31 JPH03228277A 1991-10-09 NAKANO HARUO; SODA KOICHI
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and the working of a cassette loading device and to ensure the sure junction of tapes by providing an adhering means to adhere a magnetic tape via a splicing tape which is preliminarily adhered to the cut end of the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:A 3rd splicing block means 12 holding the cut end of a leader tape 4 is moved up to a position where the means 12 is contiguous to a 1st splicing block means 9 holding the leading end of a magnetic tape 8. Then a splicing tape 17 is supplied from a splicing means 16 for the junction secured between the cut end of the tape 4 and the leading end of the tape 8. Thus the tape 17 is adhered to the cut end of the tape 8 held by the means 12 via the means 16. Then the tape 17 swelling out of the cut end of the tape 8 held by the means 12 is adhered to the cut end of the tape 4 held by a 2nd splicing block means 11. In such constitution, the stricture and the working of a cassette loading device can be simplified and the sure junction is secured between both tapes.

148 Method for removing tape defect JP2137786 1986-02-03 JPS62180573A 1987-08-07 KIUCHI SEIJI
PURPOSE: To full automatically and quickly remove the defective part of a tape without causing the break of the tape or the damage of tape edge by providing a joined tape supplying means while allowing free entrance and exit to and from a plane on which a tape cassette and a tape pedestal, etc., are provided. CONSTITUTION: A tape cassette 1 is set, a pulling arm 8 rotates in the direction A, a pulling arm 11 shifts perpendicular to a substrate and rotates in the direction B and a magnetic tape TM is pulled out. A leader tape TR and the magnetic tape TM are cut between tape pedestals 4, 5, and a rocking table 20 rotates in the direction C. A joined tape supplying means 13 moves from the outside of a plane in which the tape TM is pulled out to the inside of the plane, and tape ends 28a, 25b are connected by a tape piece 27b, and the defective part of the magnetic tape TM is rolled in an abandoned tape roll and cut. The rocking table 20 is rocked, and tape ends 26a, 25a are connected by a tape piece 27b. The supplying means 13 moves, the pulling arm 11 is rocked and a pin 10 gets off to the outside of the passage. The pulling arm 8 is rocked and the tape TM is taken up in the cassette 1. PURPOSE:To decrease the thickness at a tape bonding part by bonding two end parts of a strip tape at a certain interval to a side of a bonding tape applied with a bonding adhesives and bonding a different kind of tape piece within the interval from the same side as the bonded side of the strip tape. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of a cleaning tape 2 are positioned with a certain interval and a splicing tape 1 applied with a bonding agent 6 on one side is overlapped to the lower part of the interval. Then, almost the same size of a sensing tape 3 as this distance is adhered from the upper side within the interval of the cleaning tape 2 to fill up the interval of the cleaning tape 2. Thus, the thickness of the bonded part of the tape is decreased by the thickness of the sensing tape 3 and since both the sensing tape 3 and the cleaning tape 2 are contacted with the splicing tape 1 in the bonding, the adhesive force is strong also.
152 Cartridge type magnetic tape JP2014383 1983-02-09 JPS59146489A 1984-08-22 KOBAYASHI KIYOTAKA
PURPOSE:To ensure the stable tape driving by giving a pattern display to a leader tape at the tip of a tape for discrimination of the contents and the type of the cartridge tape and applying the feedback to a reel motor after recognizing the pattern display through a magnetic tape device. CONSTITUTION:A transparent leader tape part A at the tip of a cartridge tape 10 has a fixed length, and the information is recorded to an opaque recording tape part B. The tape length is patterned and displayed at the part A. For instance, two opaque display parts C are used with a tape of 400 feet, and an opaque display part C<1> is used with a tape of 800 feet. Thus the length of the cartridge tape is discriminated. Then these patterns C and C<1> are read by a tape tip detecting photodetector 9 and a light emitting element 11 and then fed back to the reel motors which drive the reels 1 and 2. Thus it is possible to calculate the tape reel winding quantity form a calculating expression corresponding to the cassette tape length.
153 Magnetic tape cassette JP12640282 1982-07-19 JPS5916181A 1984-01-27 NISHIYAMA TAICHI
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of static electricity to make the tape running easy to see, by adopting the sputtering method to color the end face of a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:A sputter film 8 is formed in the end part of a magnetic tape 4 by the sputtering method. The magnetic tape to be colored is wound from tape materials into the shape of a pancake and is masked except a coloring unnecessary part, namely, the end part, and this magnetic tape is set in a vacuum vessel, and a target cathode material corresponding to a target color is fixed, and gaseous impurities are removed to perform gas charging in vacuum, and a voltage is impressed between electrodes to perform sputtering, thereby forming said sputter film 8. For developing the target color, it is most effective that the thickness of the sputter film is adjusted to control interference colors.
154 Detecting method for sticking defect of magnetic tape JP20882981 1981-12-23 JPS58109839A 1983-06-30 HAYASHIBARA TOSHIAKI
PURPOSE:To form an in-line inspecting stage to detect the sticking defect of a magnetic tape, by winding a matter to be stuck and attached with a magnetic tape around a cylinder and then detecting optically the float-up at the tip of the matter to be stuck to discharge it. CONSTITUTION:A matter 11 to be stuck and attached with a magnetic tape 10 is carried on a line and pressed by a press-sticking roller 1. The matter 11 is then fed into a bent gap formed by a cylinder 2 having a certain curvature and a cover 3. In this case, the matter 11 shifts with close adhesion to the curvature of the cylinder 2 by rollers 1 and 5 and the cylinder 2. The curvature of the cylinder 2 is selected properly, and as a result, the magnetic tape which is adhered incompletely is forcibly torn off. Thus the tape 10 floats up toward the tangent line of the cylinder curvature in accordance with the degree of stiffness of the tape 10. The tip part 10a of the floated tape 10 is detected by a photoelectric tube 4. Therefore, if a magnetic tape having incomplete adhesion is detected, a defect signal is delivered. Then the defective tape is ejected by an ejector.
