PURPOSE:To achieve secure splicing by providing a tape carrying means which performs carrying and stopping operation so that the leading end of the following tape is butted against the tailing end of a preceding tape. CONSTITUTION:A main device consists of a main body 1, a spool 2 for a splicing tape, the splicing tape 3, a roller 8 for feeding the splicing tape, a roller 9 for press-contacting, etc. Then, the roller 8 is rotated in a direction A by a transfer roller 10 and a belt 11, and the splicing tape is fed in a direction B through the press-contacting of the roller 9. While the operation of the splicing feed motor is controlled, the splicing carrying means constituted as mentioned above feeds the tape 3 by a prescribed extent, and consequently tapes are connected securely with the splicing tape. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly detect the shift of a bonded part at a time of the bonding of a pair of tapes at a low cost. SOLUTION: A second guide stand 44 supported in a reciprocally movable manner by a cylinder is arranged so as to be adjacent to a first guide stand 4 having a first guide groove 52. Second and third guide grooves 54, 56 having the same width as the first guide groove 52 are formed to the second guide table 44 so as to extend in parallel to the first guide groove 52. A large number of hole parts 44 are respectively bored in the guide grooves 52, 54, 56 and connected to a vacuum pump 62. A large number of hole parts 62A are further bored in the peripheral parts of the groove ends of the guide grooves 52, 54, 56 along the londitudinal direction of the guide grooves 52, 54, 56 and a pressure sensor 64 is arranged on the way of piping 60. |

PURPOSE: To reduce a cycle time by performing a second adhesion by an adhesion means while a rotation means is rolling a magnetic tape into a cassette case and by returning a second holding means to the position where a leader tape is pulled out.
CONSTITUTION: A first holding means 7 holds the tip of a magnetic tape 1 and a cassette case holding means 5 holds a cassette case 2. A leader tape pulling out means 6 and 6 pulls a leader tape 4 out of the case 2. A second holding means 9 located at a first position P1 and a third holding means 14 located at a third position P3 hold the pulled out leader tape 4 and a cutting means 20 cuts the tape 4 into the first and the second leader tapes 4a and 4b. Next, the holding means 9 and 14 move to a second and a fourth positions P2 and P4, respectively. Then, an adhesion means 23 located at a fifth position P5 moves toward an arrow direction 29 and adheres the tip of the tape 1 and the cutting section of the leader tape 4a by an adhesive tape 24, the holding means 7 and 14 disengage the holding of the tape 1 and the leader tape 4a and rolls both tapes into the cassette case 2.

PURPOSE: To inexpensively form layers having homogeneity and an excellent adhesion property at a low temp. by using pulse voltages of a specific waveform as a power source at the time of forming the hard carbide, nitride and carbonitride layers of Ti and Zr by a plasma enhanced CVD method on the surfaces of industrial metallic materials.
CONSTITUTION: The hard layers 12 consisting of TiN, TiC, Ti(CN), etc., are formed at 2 to 3μm in thickness d
1 by the plasma enhanced CVD method on the outside surface of a circular shearing knife 10 consisting of a hard sintered alloy 11 contg. Co at 6 to 25% as a binder at the time of sintering and consisting of the balance hard WC as essential components and contg. carbide of Ti, Ta, Nb, etc., and having a thickness d
2 of 0.4 to 0.8mm, an outside diameter D of 80 to 150mm and having a hole of 50 to 80mm in diameter at its center. The pulse DC voltages to be used in this case are specified to 200 to 900V, the ratio of the residual DC voltage/max. pulse voltage to 0.02 to 0.5, the period of the pulse voltages to 20μs to 20ms and the ratio of a pulse length to a pulse pause to 0.1 to 0.6. The hard layers 12 consisting of the carbide, nitride, carbonitride, etc., of Ti (or Zr) ≤4% in Cl infiltrating from the raw materials are formed on the surface of the hard alloy body 11 at a growth rate of 0.5 to 10μm/ hour.

PURPOSE: To improve a cleaning tape or a single function diagnostic tape by cleaning a magnetic head and also supplying diagnostic/instruction information to a user.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning part 4 and a diagnostic/instruction part 6 are joined in a transfer part 10. The cleaning part 4 works for 10-30 seconds while the diagnostic/instruction part 6 works about 1-2 minutes or longer in accordance with information for supplying to a user. Diagnostic/instruction information stored in its related part 6 assists the user, when a multifunctional cleaning tape 2 is used for a VCR 12, with a color bar for properly making color adjustment, with information for correctly making tracking adjustment, and with data for making judgment on the extent of cleaning the VCR 12 magnetic head by the cleaning part 4 as well as on the extent of adjusting the VCR 12. Thus, the cleaning and diagnostic information can be obtained.
