A whistle is provided with an interior that can be cleaned. The whistle has a body with a resonance chamber wall. One face of a resonance chamber formed by the resonance chamber wall is open. A side plate is formed separately from the body, and can be attached to and removed from the body. The side plate has a first portion that blocks the one face of the resonance chamber when attached to the body. A first flange is provided on the first portion and is engageable with the resonance chamber wall. At least one of the resonance chamber wall and the first flange is elastically deformable. An air passageway, the resonance chamber, an air opening that is opened in the air passageway, and a sound-emitting opening that is opened in the resonance chamber are formed by the body and the side plate.

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of accidents when driving a motor-driven vehicle with little traveling sound, by generating artificially an appropriate amount of noise in order that other vehicles, pedestrians or the like may become aware of the approach of the former vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A cornical air collector 1 is provided in a predetermined position of a vehicle, and arranged so as to make a large diameter portion 8 face to the front of the vehicle, so that air generated when the vehicle drives can flow into the air collector 1. An opening/closing shutter 5 is rotatably provided in the air collector 1 so as to control the flow amount of air passing through the air collector 1, and the opening/closing shutter 5 is opened/closed through a cable 7 by operating a controlling lever 6 provided in a driver seat. A U-shaped tube 4 is provided forwardly apart by a predetermined distance from a small diameter portion 9, and noise is generated in the U-shaped tube 4 by a venturi effect when the air discharged from the air collector 1 passes on an upper surface of the U-shaped tube 4.
