The key actuation system is designed for use with a keyboard instrument of the type having multiple keys. Each of the keys has an upper and lower surface and is pivotally supported above a key bed. A front end of a key may be depressed by a player to play a note. The key bed extends under and is spaced from the lower surface of the key. The actuation system includes an underlever in the space between the lower surface of the key and the key bed, and between the front end of the key in the pivotal support. The underlever has one end that is supported in a stationary position relative to the key bed and another end that is movable towards and away from the key bed. The movable end of the underlever is in mechanical communication with the key such that movement of the movable end of the underlever towards the key bed causes the key to move as if depressed by a player. An actuator is in mechanical communication with the underlever and operable to move the second end of the underlever towards the key bed. |

An automatic performing apparatus that executes recording and reproduction of a performance includes a diagnostic signal generator for sending a power supply control circuit at least one of normal and abnormal diagnostic signals indicating whether a controller is normally executing a program. The power supply control circuit controls the power supplied to a drive circuit by interrupting the power or reducing the power to such a low level that the drive circuit is not damaged by a prolonged power supply if the operation of the controller is determined abnormal based on the diagnostic signal generated by the diagnostic signal generator. |

An automatic performing system includes a performance information transmitting unit and a performance information receiving unit. Performance information is transmitted from the performance information transmitting unit to the performance information receiving unit. The transmitting unit waits for returned performance information from the receiving unit and compares the returned information with the transmitted information. If the returned information is determined to be unequal to the transmitted information, a retransmission command is transmitted to the receiving unit, thereby prohibiting the receiving unit from using incorrectly received performance information and ordering the receiving unit to wait for the next transmission from the transmitting unit. Thus, correctly received performance information is processed on a real time basis. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound-amplifying plate for amplifying the vibration sound generated from a musical box.
SOLUTION: Two 1st and 2nd sound-amplifying plates 14, 16 formed in curved surfaces along the raw materials' own directions are arranged in parallel, and the whole peripheral edges, except the upper edges where a musical box movement 12 is installed, are fixed to supporting members 18, 19 and a base 20. The plane of a vibration plate 32 is disposed perpendicular to the tangent planes P, including the upper edges of the sound amplifying plates 14, 16 so that the vibrations are transmitted along the tangent lines of the curves drawn by the longitudinal sections of the sound-amplifying plates 14, 16. Since the wave excitation inputted from the wood trims of the upper end cutting faces of the sound-amplifying plates 14, 16 and its neighborhood is amplified sound, the vibration sound emitted by the movement 12 has little energy loss.

PURPOSE: To provide the automatic musical performance system in which such failures as continuation of a musical tone and damage of a solenoid, etc., are not caused in such case when musical performance information cannot be received correctly, in the automatic musical performance system for transmitting and receiving the musical performance information between a musical performance information transmitting means and a musical performance information receiving means and executing reproduction and/or sound recording of music.
CONSTITUTION: In a reproducing musical performance, a main controller of an automatic musical performance piano transmits musical performance information to a control of a key side (S1-S3), and thereafter, waits for a reply from the key side controller (S4). Subsequently, unless replied information coincides with information transmitted previously (S6), the information transmitted previously is revoked and a retransmitting command for instructing a fact that information sent in the next time is to be awaited to the key side controller is transmitted (S9, S3). This processing is executed in a real time with regard to one musical performance information each.

PURPOSE: To appreciate the atmosphere of a live performance at an optional place as well as to appreciate the rich, impressive performance any time one wishes by installing a concersion means which converts percussion instrument performance information into a driving signal.
CONSTITUTION: A controller unit 16 is provided with a computer or sequencer 42 and a sound source 44 as an acoustic signal generating means and a percussion instrument information outputting means 40. The computer or sequencer 42 outputs music information for driving the sound source 44 and percussion instrument performance information for sounding a bell 20 synchronously with this music information in order with an MIDI signal in conformity with a program so far inputted. In addition, when the computer is used, an MIDI interface is attached to it, thereby using music sequencer soft. With this constitution, the atmosphere of alive performance is appreciated by a percussion instrument, while music is played by an acoustic signal through an accompanist of an orchestra and so on, thus rich, impressive music is enjoyed any time one wishes.
