A hinge assembly is provided for connecting the temple of an eyeglass to a lens support assembly. An eyeglass comprising the hinge assembly is also provided. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring back in order to give flexible movement and to fix a skull temple to the face of a user by providing a device with front and back part structural bodies and a piston cylinder between both of them. SOLUTION: The front supporting structural body 24 is provided with a crossing-direction front fitting part 36, a crossing-direction intermediate fitting part 30 and a crossing-direction groove 40. The supporting extension parts of the fitting parts 36 and 38 are provided respectively with the through-holes. The groove 40 is provided with a step part 42 and a screw hole 43. Then, the lower projecting flange end of a rim is aligned and matched by a screw so as to function as a means for removing and exchanging a lens. The back supporting structural body 26 is provided with a crossing-direction front fitting part 46, a back fitting part 48 and a step-down part 50 on an opposite side to the fitting part 48. Besides, piston cylinder assemblies 28 and 30 are arranged between the structural bodies 24 and 26. PURPOSE: To make it possible to nearly constantly maintain the opening and closing operability of a bow side temple in spite of long-term use without using hinge screws by providing a hinge mechanism with an elastic member which is interposed in a compressed state between a flange and a detaining part and energizes the flange and the detaining part respectively in directions parting from each other. CONSTITUTION: This hinge mechanism has a turning shaft 1 which is provided with the flange 11 at one end and is formed with a sliding curved part 12 to be joined to the bow side temple T by curving the part to the lower side of the bow side temple T on the other end side. The mechanism has a bearing member 2 which is bored with a through-hole 21 to be inserted with the turning shaft 1, is formed with a sliding surface 22 at one end of the through-hole 21 and the detaining part 25 at the other end the through-hole 21 and is joined to an endpiece E. The mechanism has the elastic member 3 which is interposed in the compressed state between the flange 11 and the detaining part 25 and energizes the flange 11 and the detaining part 25 respectively in the directions parting from each other. The bow side temple T is slid with desired sliding resistance on the joining surface 22 of the bearing body 2 by the sliding curved part 12 of the turning shaft 1 by the energizing force of the elastic member 3 at the time of moving the temple to open and close. | ||||||
