PURPOSE:To improve the survey ability and the resolution for an underground body by receiving a reflected wave from the underground when a pulse wave which increases in peak value successively is transmitted, and detecting whether there is an underground body or not and its depth. CONSTITUTION:An exponential function generating circuit 25 which is started by a timer 17 controls a base band pulser 14 which is driven by a timer 16 to transmit the pulse wave which increases in peak value successively at intervals of 50mum, etc., to the underground 15. Reflected wave of this transmitted pulse wave from bodies 18 and 18' under the ground 15 are received through a switch element 19 controlled by a delay time generating circuit 23 to detect whether there is an underwater body or not and the depth of the body, which are displayed. In this case, the received pulses based upon the reflected waves of said transmitted pulses which are reflected by the bodies do not vary the amplification degree of a reception system even when the bodies are different in depth, and attenuation is compensated without distortion. Consequently, the surveying ability and resolution for the underground bodies are improved. |

CONSTITUTION:A capacitor is connected to both terminals of a conductor formed in a loop to manufacture the electromagnetic resonance type marker body 1, which is buried vertically near the joint 5' of a gas pipe 5. Then, a transmitting and receiving antenna 4 is moved in a lengthwise direction of the gas pipe 5 and a singular signal waveform received when the antenna 4 passes over the marker body 1 is detected to confirm the presence of the marker body 1. Then, the presence of the joint 5 of the gas pipe 5 indicated by the marker body 1 is confirmed. |
