PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the operation of a device so as to apply a large force, and resist the device even against dynamic force and frictional force applied to a pipeline, by providing a tension driving gear arranged on a vertical tension frame, and a stretching member whose one side is connected to an apparatus and other is connected to the tension driving gear. SOLUTION: A tension frame is mounted in the end part of the final individual pipe by a replaceable adapter 12, and a high pressure air hose and a chain 9 are guided to the outside through a slit opening 13. A chain pulley formed as a sprocket having the reverse rotation stoppers of a ratchet 15 and a ratchet mechanism 16, is rotatably journalled in the range of an opening 13 in a base 11. One end of hydraulic piston cylinder unit 18 arranged on both sides of the chain pulley, is fixed on the base 11, and a roll 21 guided by the guide 22 of the base 11 and a transverse shaft 20 for holding a center direction changing roll 23, are fixed at the end of a piston rod 19.

PURPOSE: To mount or remove a radioactive ray source to be used safely by positioning a tubular radioactive ray shield on the longitudinal axis line of a drilling/measuring (MWD) tool at a specific gap and then moving the radioactive ray source. CONSTITUTION: A radioactive ray source carrier 12 of a radioactive logging means 13 has upper and lower radioactive ray sources 16 and 17. When removing the carrier 12 from an MWD tool 15 at the time of drilling operation, first the tool 15 is increased gradually from a gear hole at the lower part of a drilling rig 11. When the upper edge of a tool body 14 reaches the floor of the rig II, a set of pipe slip 19 is installed and the tool 15 is suspended in erect position at the lower part of the rig floor, thus removing the carrier 12 from the tool body 14. For housing the carrier 12 with radioactive ray sources 16 and 17, a radioactive ray source handling device 10 has tubular radioactive ray shields 20 and 21 that are connected by a tubular middle member 22.
