PURPOSE: To obtain a fog-resistent colored product by treating a base material containing a surfactant with a dying liquid containing specific proportions of a colorant, surfactant, and a solvent as needed. CONSTITUTION: A base material treated with a surfactant and a blurless resin for its surface is dyed with a dying liquid contg. a colorant and a surfactant, totaling 20W100wt%, together with a solvent as needed. The base material used is a polyol- modified melamine resin, or a mixture of precondensate of a methylol melamine resin in which part or all of methyl group is alkyl-etherified, and a polyhydric alcohol having ethylene oxide chain of a molecular weight of 100W2,000. Also, the surfactant used is an anionic or nonionic one, and also the colorant used is a dye. For example, the dying treatment is made at 70W95°C for 10sec to an hour to obtain an uniformly dyed product without damaging its fog resistance. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio

68 Method of dyeing thermoplastic resin and colored plastic lens obtainable by that method US10392875 2003-03-21 US20030182737A1 2003-10-02 Kazuo Inoue; Misa Mishina; Masahiro Nakagawa
The invention provides a method of effectively dyeing a thermoplastic resin plastic lens in any desired color tone and density as well as a colored plastic lens made by the method. The method involves dipping a thermoplastic resin plastic lens in a dyeing liquid containing one or more disperse dyes and one or more monocyclic monoterpenes.
69 Process for disperse dyeing dry-spun atactic polyvinyl chloride-based filaments and fibres before drawing US838352 1986-03-11 US4681594A 1987-07-21 Pierre Chion; Jacques Menault
The invention relates to a process for continuous dyeing of filaments based on atactic polyvinyl chloride in the course of their production. The undrawn filaments are impregnated with a composition containing at least one plastosoluble dye while they have a density of between 1.3 and 1.4 g/cm.sup.3, are fixed continuously in the presence of steam under pressure at a temperature of between 100.degree. and 120.degree. C. for 2 to 20 seconds, are drawn in a known manner, are then fixed under tension in the presence of steam under pressure at a temperature of between 100.degree. and 130.degree. C. for 1 to 20 seconds, and are then oiled and shrunk in a known manner.Such a process permits quick dyeing, on an industrial scale, with good color fastness.
70 Waterless dip dye composition and method of use thereof for synthetic articles US669355 1984-11-08 US4661117A 1987-04-28 Robert B. Wilson; William F. Pomeroy; Louis T. Sovey, Jr.
A waterless dip dye composition for non-textile and general-utility articles comprises an aromatic ester of the formula ArCOOR.sub.2, ArCOO--R.sub.1 --OOCAr or (ArCOO).sub.z --R.sub.3, wherein R.sub.1 is alkylene of 2-8 carbon atoms or polyoxyalkylene of the formula --C.sub.r H.sub.2r (OC.sub.r H.sub.2r).sub.s, in which r is 2 or 3 and s is 1 to 15; R.sub.2 is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or alkenyl of 8-30 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is the residue of a polyhydric alcohol having z hydroxyl groups; Ar is substituted or unsubstituted mono- or bicyclic aryl of up to 15 carbon atoms and z is 3-6, admixed with at least 0.5% by weight of a dyeing assistant agent and an organic colorant.A process for coloring non-textile and general-utility articles, fabricated from polyester, polyamide, polyurethane, acrylic, halogenated polyolefin or epoxy plastic, comprises exposing an article to the foregoing compositions, maintained at a temperature from about 100.degree. C. to the temperature at which the plastic degrades, for a time adequate to achieve the desired degree of coloration.
71 Process for preventing color migration in colored moldings of polyoxymethylene resins US218364 1980-12-19 US4331439A 1982-05-25 Minoru Hamada; Hisaya Sakurai; Jyunzo Masamoto; Takeo Yoshida; Hiroshi Hazawa
This invention deals with the coloring or dyeing of polyoxymethylene resins and particularly with preventing color migration therein. Color migration in molded articles of colored polyoxymethylene resins is prevented by dyeing the articles with disperse dyes, and treating the articles with a compound having one or more isocyanate groups, for example, a urethane prepolymer.
