PURPOSE:To contrive to stop a motor of a sewing machine immediately upon the generation of an abnormality signal and make a sewing operation safe and secure, by providing a discriminating circuit which generates an abnormality signal in association with a concurrent generation of both an upper needle position signal and a lower needle position signal, in ghe case where a needle position detecting means is broken. CONSTITUTION:In the case where the generation of the upper position signal from a position detecting part P1 is not followed by the generation of the lower position signal from a position detecting part P2 and where the upper position signal is generated again after one cycle of a main spindle, a flip-flop F2 is not reset by a lower position signal, its Q terminal hols H and its Q' terminal hols L. Therfore, counters CT1, CT2 continues counting, while a counter CT2 becomes H, and at the trailing edge of the upper position signal, gate contions become G2=L, G4=H, G5=L and G6=H, thereby braking is actuated. In the case where the upper position signal is generated repreatedly and a lowe position signal is generated in such condition, the coexistence of both H signals results in that G9=L, a flip-flip F3 is set, Q'=L, G6=H and the motor is braked. |

PURPOSE:To stop a sewing-machine needle accurately and rapidly at the predetermined position by mounting a low-speed detecting circuit at an output terminal of a position detector and precisely detecting the revolution of a variable- speed motor at low speed as one of prior conditions for stopping the needle at the predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:When the direction of sewing is changed during the revolution of the variable-speed motor 11 at predetermined speed, the stoppage speed signals 200, 202 of 0 are outputted to the FFs 44, 68 of a control circuit 42 from a speed instruction section 12 when an operation pedal 34 is set at a neutral position, the starting signals 212 of 1 and intermediate speed signals 224 are outputted to a drive circuit 48 from the FF44 during a period when stoppage is prepared, and the motor is maintained at prescribed intermediate speed. When low-speed detecting signals 216 are outputted from a low-speed detecting circuit 50 using positional detecting signals 208, 210 from a position detector 40 as input during the period and left-and-right positional detecting signals 206 are outputted from a needle left-and-right position detector 38, reset signals are outputted to the FF44 from an AND gate 64, brake signals 224 are outputted to the drive circuit 48 through a brake one-shot circuit 66, and the motor 11 is stopped. |

PURPOSE:To change-over motor speed by means of switches by applying the output signals of a speed generator to the first input terminal of a comparison circuit and line voltage to the second input terminal through the main switch or the by-switch. CONSTITUTION:A speed generator 26 detecting the number of revolution of an upper shaft 24 is connected to the first input of a comparison circuit 28, and a foot switch 29 and a foot switch 30 to which a resistor 23 is mounted are connected to the second input. The output of the comparison circuit 28 each actuates a clutch 19, a brake 20 and press-down-and-up and cotton-cut solenoids 34, 36 through a control circuit 31. Thus, when the switch 29 is at ON, the clutch 19 and the brake 20 are controlled so that the voltage of the speed generator 26 becomes the same as line voltage, and when the switch 30 is ON both are controlled so that the voltage becomes the same as voltage than the line voltage. Consequently, speed can be controlled by changing over the switches 29, 30. |

PURPOSE:To eliminate the divergence of the position of stoppage due to the fluctuation of a rotary speed by controlling the driving and reverse-phase braking in accordance with the 1st and 2nd position detection signals and by adjusting the starting time of reverse-phase braking by means of a timer. CONSTITUTION:A control device 38 formed of a microcomputer is provided in a control circuit driving a sewing machine and the like and signals from a speed instructing voltage generating circuit 31 and an under-needle position detecting sensor 36, etc. are inputted in the device, whereby a motor M is driven. And, the 1st and 2nd position detection signals are taken out from the sensor and the driving current of the motor M is made ineffective on one hand, while the reverse-phase braking is made effective on the other, and further the reverse-phase braking is made ineffective by the timer means in the control device 38. Accordingly, when there is any fluctuation in the rotational speed of the motor M, the fall time of the position detection signal changes, thereby the start of the reverse-phase braking can be adjusted and thus the motor can be stopped constantly at the prescribed rotational position. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to drive a needle bar oscillation mechanism, needle bar shut-off mechanism and tension release mechanism with one common electrically driven actuator, to miniaturize a drive motor by lessening the load at the time of driving of the electrically driven actuator and to consequently reduce the size and cost of a sewing machine.
SOLUTION: This sewing machine is provided with a needle bar vertical movement mechanism 2, the needle bar oscillation mechanism 3, the needle bar shut-off mechanism, a thread tension mechanism 5 and the tension release mechanism and is provided with a drive mechanism 7 for driving the needle bar oscillation mechanism 3, the needle bar shut-off mechanism and the tension release mechanism with the driving power of the one common drive motor 90. The drive mechanism 7 is designed to drive a first cam member 93 having a cam for oscillation and a cam for shut-off and a second cam member 95 having a cam for release by the drive motor go and, therefore, the needle bar oscillation mechanism 3, the needle bar shut-off mechanism and the tension release mechanism may be independently drivably driven by the one common drive motor 90.
