Consequently, when the intermediate shaft 2 is rotated reversely, a oneway clutch 27 functions to block the reverse rotation of the intermediate shaft 2. If an engine 5 stable at this time because of an abrupt increase of load, the control oil pressure drops to zero so as to disconnect a hydraulically functionable output side clutch 25 thus interrupting a power transmission system between the output shaft 3 and a second power transmission system. Consequently, a shift lever is made operationable so as to enable the shifting from D-range to N-range where the engine can be started. When a vehicle is driven, the oneway clutch 27 can be unlocked automatically.
