CONSTITUTION: A raw material coal (C) is packed in a molding box 1, and a given amount of the coal is deposited on a movable plate 7 capable of rising and lowering. A foot 3 is then lowered by a pressing cylinder 8 to consolidate the raw material coal (C) and form a part of a consolidated cake. When the pressing force by the pressing cylinder 8 provided in a lifting apparatus 9 reaches the set pressure or above, the consolidated cake with the above-mentioned movable plate 7 are then lowered in a set distance by a back pressure holding apparatus 10 for lowering the movable plate 7. The foot 3 is then raised to the initial position to pack the raw material coal (C) in the molding box 1. The operations are repeated to give the aimed consolidated cake of given height.
