专利汇可以提供Briquette专利检索，专利查询，专利分析的服务。并且PURPOSE: To provide a briquette which is made nontoxic by extremely reducing CO which evolves in large quantities during combustion, by a method wherein a catalyst layer for the oxidation of CO or a coating layer of a salt capable of converting, into an oxidation catalyst by calcination, is provided on the surface layer of the briquette.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst layer having a thickness of 1W2mm for the oxidation of CO (e.g. MnO
2 and CuO) is deposited on the surface layer of briquette. Alternatively, the surface of the briquette is impregnated with a soln. of a salt such as Mn or Cu (e.g. MnSO
4 or CuSO
4 ) capable of converting into an oxidation catalyst by calcination, to form an impregnated layer. Or, said soln. of said salt is deposited on the surface layer of the briquette to form a coating layer.
EFFECT: CO evolving during the combustion of the broquette can be converted into harmless CO
2 . The briquette can safely be used as a fuel for domestic heating, cooking, etc.
