A/d converter

CONSTITUTION: A reference data is set to a comparison value setting register 1, and a comparator 6 compares the selected analog input signal 4 with a data set to the comparison value setting register 1 at first. Then a deciding circuit 9 detects whether or not the selected analog input signal 4 is an undesired data. When it is judged that the selected analg input signal 4 is required, the A/D conversion is implemented by connecting a successive approximation register 2 and one input of comparator 6 and the output of the comparator 6 and the successive approximation register 2. The result of comparison as to the data judged to be undesired is stored in a comparison result storage register 7. The time required for A/D conversion of plural analog input signals 4 is shortened.
