CONSTITUTION: An optical bistable element array formed of a non-linear optical medium 10 and optical resonators 9 formed of two mutually opposed mirrors, a piezoelectric medium 11 for holding the optical resonators 9, and piezoelectric element electrodes 12 jointed to both sides of the piezoelectric medium 11 are provided to form optical resonator length adjusting mechanism. The transmittance-phase difference characteristic of the optical resonators 9 is grasped by this optical resonator length adjusting mechanism so as to optionally set the initial phase difference determined by the optical resonator length. The element characteristic and action mode are also controlled by this optical resonator length adjusting mechanism so as to be the optimum bistable action, differential amplification and limiter, and the whole element length also in a two-dimensional array with optical logical elements disposed in the plane state is minutely adjusted. The characteristic of each element can be thereby uniformalized.
