CONSTITUTION: Using aqueous solution of aluminum nitrate as a dispersion medium, Alundum medium is caused to disperse in the positions desired to be insulated in thermocouple leg body conductors. The mixing ratio of dispersion medium and alundum powder should be proper to allow smooth coating. And coating is repeated until a desired thickness is obtained. Thus coated layer is heated primarily in the atmosphere to oxidize the aluminum nitrate into aluminum oxide. Then, in the oxidizing or reducing atmosphere, selected according to the material of the leg body conductors, the coated layer is heated secondarily at about 1000°, in order to intensify the bonding of alundum particles and the adhesion to the leg body conductors. Thus, the insulation of desired length may be esily obtained
