CONSTITUTION: When a composite color television signal is inputted, a comb line filter circuit 2 supplies a separated luminance signal Y to a notch filter 4 and a Y-signal switch circuit 10. The filter 4 suppresses the signal amplitude of a color carrier frequency band in order to reduce the dot interference of the Y signal and outputs the Y signal to the switch circuit 10. According to a horizontal edge signal outputted from a horizontal edge detection circuit 9, the switch circuit 10 executes control so that the horizontal edge area can select the output of the filter 4 and an area excepting for the horizontal edge area can select the Y signal from the filter circuit 2. As a result, the output of the filter 4, for which the dot interference is reduced, can be outputted to the horizontal edge area, where the dot interference is easily generated, and the Y signal, for which the horizontal resolution is not degraded, can be outputted from the filter circuit 2 to the area excepting for the horizontal edge area.
