CONSTITUTION: Neem-oil is extracted from a coarsely milled neem seed by an aprotic solvent such as a nitrile, a substituted aromatic, a chlorinated aliphatic, an aromatic aldehyde and a sulfone, to which nonpolar azadirachtin is not dissolved, and further the azadirachtin is extracted by a polar aprotonic solvent from the defatted neem seed. The objective composition is obtained by regulating the composition to have ≥50vol.% aprotic solvent and ≤15vol.% water by further diluting the extract of the azadirachtin with the aprotic solvent or by subjecting the extract to an extraction treatment by the aprotic solvent immiscible with water. The composition is used for prohibition of diet of insects, acarids, nematodes, ascaris, etc., and inhibition of growth thereof.
