When a recording and reproducing wavelength has such a characteristic that the reflection max. wavelength of the dye is longer than the recording and reproducing laser wavelength, not only the absorption of laser beam is low but also high reflectively good in recording and reproduction is provided. Therefore, this optical card is excellent in the thermal stability to reproducing laser beam and low in the deterioration of reproduction and stably forms a pit by the irradiation with recording laser beam. Further, it is pref. to use an indoanilin metal complex dye as the optical recording layer from the aspect of reflectivity and durability.
