CONSTITUTION: A controlling agent against the rust of a chrysanthemum containing diisopropyl 1,3-dithiolan-2-ylidenemalonate (isoprothiolane) as an active constituent. The agent containing the compound is applied to the chrysanthemum in an amount of 0.05W0.4g compound per hill to control the rust of the chrysanthemum. The isoprothiolane is formulated into a granule, emulsion or wettable powder to treat the foliar part of the chrysanthemum or a cultivated soil thereof. The isoprothiolane may be used in combination with the usual controlling system of the rust and other blights or injurious insects of the chrysanthemum.
