USE: Agricultural and horticultural fungicide (effective to wide variety of plant blights including those originated by resistant fungi) and medical fungicide (esp. effective to Trichophyton and Candida).
PROCESS: Reaction of compound II with a compound III in the presence of a base (e.g. organic tert-amine, alkali matal hydroxide or alcoholate, imidazole, triazole, etc.) affords a compound IV, which is converted to the objective compound I by reacting with a compound V in the presence of the above base.
