METHOD WHICH COMPRISES REACTING AN ORGANIC COMPOUND CONTAINING A REACTIVE -N=C=Y GROUP IN WHICH Y IS A MEMBER SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF OXYGEN AND SULFUR WITH A COMPOUND CONTAINING AN ACTIVE HYDROGEN ATOM AS DETERMINED BY THE ZEREWITINOFF METHOD IN THE PRESENCE OF A CATALYTIC AMOUNT OF A CATALYST COMPOSITION COMPRISING A TERTIARY AMINE AND AN ORGANIC COMPOUND OF THE ARSENIC FAMILY SAID COMPOUND HAVING A DIRECT BOND BETWEEN CARBON AND AN ATOM SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF ARSENIC, ANTIMONY AND BISMUTH WHEREIN THE MOLAR CONCENTRATION RATIOS OF ORGANO METAL COMPOUND AND TERTIARY AMINE VARIES FROM 100:1 TO 1:10,000. |
