The invention relates to a redispersible powder obtainable by (co)polymerization, using a polymer with cationic functionality in an aqueous medium, optionally accompanied by the use of conventional additives, the polymer with cationic functionality being obtained by (co)polymerization in an aqueous medium of olefinically unsaturated (co)monomers, wherein at least one (co)monomer has a cationic functionality, further (co)monomers are added and polymerization takes place in the presence of suitable initiators, and by drying the aqueous dispersion obtained, the (co)polymerizate having one or more reactive groups. According to another embodiment, the polymer with cationic functionality is formed in situ in the presence of a seed. According to another embodiment, the process is controlled in such a way that a (co)polymerizate particle with heterogeneous morphology is formed. The invention also relates to the aqueous dispersions, a process for the preparation of the redispersible powder and the use thereof.

A plastically deformable aqueous mixture capable of being shaped into a body, the mixture being composed of any one or combination of ceramic, glass-ceramic, glass, molecular sieve, carbon, or metal powders, cellulose ether organic binder, water insoluble hydrophobic polymer co-binder having an average molecular weight of at least about 8,000, plasticizer, and water. A method of making a body which involves mixing the above components in a high shear mixer at a temperature of about 30°C to 70°C to form a homogeneous mixture, extruding the mixture at a temperature of about 30°C to 70°C into a green body, followed by drying and firing to produce the product body. |

189 | METHODS TO CONTROL FLUID LOSS IN A WELL BORE | PCT/IB2010053727 | 2010-08-18 | WO2011024099A3 | 2011-06-30 | PANGA MOHAN K R; COUILLET ISABELLE; ABAD CARLOS |
The invention discloses a method of controlling fluid loss from a subterranean formation of a well bore. In a first aspect, the method is done by providing a treatment fluid made of an aqueous fluid and a hydrophobic polymer; and introducing the treatment fluid into the wellbore. In a second aspect, the method is done by providing a treatment fluid made of water and a water soluble polymer; providing in the treatment fluid a fluid loss additive having a hydrophobic polymer; using the treatment fluid in a well bore of a subterranean formation; allowing the treatment fluid to establish a permeable filter cake with the water soluble polymer in at least a portion of the well bore; and allowing hydrophobic polymer to enter into the filter cake to reduce permeability of the filter cake.

The invention relates to a novel hydrodispersible waterproofing agent based on at least one water-insoluble and water-immiscible waterproofing agent which has previously been emulsified in a hydrosoluble amphiphilic copolymer composition. The invention also relates to the solid forms of said composition obtained by drying, and to the use thereof in a water-insoluble film-forming polymer composition or in a mineral binding agent composition for applications in the field of construction. |
