PURPOSE: To guide a vehicle safely to an accurate position for parking a vehicle being adjoining to the front wall of a loaded luggage loading and unloading site at the rear of a vehicle that is retreating toward the loaded luggage loading and unloading site. CONSTITUTION: A sensor device 20 is installed on a loading and unloading site wall W or adjacently to it, and distance between the loading and unloading site wall W and the rear part of the vehicle is measured by utilizing supersonic signals, ultraviolet rays, or infrared rays so that a driver can properly park the vehicle at a position that is adjacent to the loading and unloading site wall W. When the vehicle is at a parking position, the rear part of the carrier of the vehicle contacts a buffer 18. A signal machine 30 is installed, for example, on the loading and unloading side wall W and can be easily recognized by the driver of the vehicle at a driver's seat. The signal machine 30 is continuously lighted or activated in response to the decrease in distance measured, for example, by a sensor device 20 or has an exposed front panel H' with windows 31-7 that are arranged in vertical direction and emit light. PURPOSE: To provide a wheel stopper device, which can prevent the generation of accidents such as derailment and fall of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A device has a main body part 1, a sensor 2, to which an abutment plate 1b of the main body 1 abuts thereon when the main body 1 is located at a predetermined position and which detects the location thereof, a display lamp 3 for informing the detection, and a removable part 4. The removable part 4 is provided with a display plate 4a, a removable fitting 4b, and a limit switch 4c, and the display lamp 3 is installed in the removable part 4, and connected by the switch 4c and a wire 4d. A battery 2a and the sensor 2 are connected to the switch 4c and the display lamp 3 by a wire 2b. Consequently, when a wheel stopper device is installed, the display lamp 3 is lighted. In the case where the removable part 4 is located, for example, in a door of a vehicle, the display lamp 3 is switched off. A driver surely confirm the lights-out of the display lamp 3 at the time of get on a vehicle, and removes the wheel stopper device. With this structure, an accident that a vehicle is started in the condition that the wheel stopper device is installed is surely prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO

PURPOSE: To improve safety and manageability with regard to monitoring various operations of a docking facility for loading and unloading truck loads by continuously processing signals of a lock condition detecting means provided on respective loading and unloading positions and displaying various data such as lock condition and loading hours. CONSTITUTION: Respective loading and unloading positions 12 to 16 of a docking facility 11 are provided with respective lock devices 17 to 21, which are arranged to engage with a standard type bumper. Respective lock devices 17 to 21 are provided with respective external light source units 22 to 26 and photoelectric sensors 27 to 31 connected to an input rack 42 through a signal wire 37 to 41. The input signals are inputted in a computer 44 and processed in accordance with a specific program and plurality of data such as the present lock condition and the loading hours for indicating the signalling hours of a lock signal are displayed on a monitor 46. Safety and manageability can be improved by this composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO

A hydraulic system for operating dock levelers, vehicle restraints, and other types of loading dock equipment includes one or more features that prolong the life of the hydraulic fluid. A hydraulic reservoir with a desiccant filled breather cap or a hermetically sealed pliable reservoir minimizes the hydraulic fluid's exposure to condensation and atmospheric moisture. The system can be used for prolonging the life of both biodegradable and- non-biodegradable hydraulic fluids. In some embodiments, the system includes an acceptably biodegradable fluid having a combination of properties that makes the fluid particularly suitable for loading dock equipment.

Example safety barrier systems (10) for vehicle loading docks (12) comprise a retractable flexible barrier (40) with a special powered latching mechanism (50)that locks the barrier in place and prevents it from being retracted under certain hazardous dock conditions. In some examples, the barrier cannot be retracted when there is no vehicle at the dock while the dock's door (16) is open. In some examples, an alarm (54) is energized when concurrently the door is open, the barrier is retracted and there is no vehicle at the dock. |
