191 APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING WRAPPER AND WRAPPING PRODUCTS PCT/US2004002262 2004-01-28 WO2004067382A3 2005-04-07 DALIETOS PAUL; SLOAN MICHAEL
An apparatus for feeding a wrapping web (201-204) to a wrapping station (204), where a product (2010) is to be wrapped with the wrapping web, includes a backstand (221-224) for holding a supply roll of the wrapping web and for unwinding and rewinding the wrapping web. The wrapping web falls under gravity on a conveyor which transports the wrapping web to the wrapping station without using bend rollers. The unwinding or rewinding speed of the backstand is controllably adjustable. An unused length of the wrapping web after wrapping is rewound onto the supply roll, leaving a portion dangling loosely from the supply roll and above the conveyor. Thus, the wrapping web can be automatically fed on demand to the wrapping station without human intervention and without the need of pre-feeding the wrapping web into the wrapping station.

The present invention concerns an apparatus for packing articles (2), wherein the packing is formed by at least one web material (4), wherein typically a plurality of individual juxtaposed runs of web material (4) and a number of more or less packed articles (2) are conveyed on the runs, wherein the apparatus includes first means which during packing of articles (2) join the web material (4) continuously in its longitudinal direction, as well as other means (3) for individual joints (5) and for separation in transverse direction of the web material (4), wherein the mentioned other means (3) are arranged on moving means adapted to move in the same direction and at the same speed as the web material (4) and the articles (2) being packed, called the X-axis, and in a direction against the web material (4) and the articles (2) arranged thereon, called the Y-axis.
194 INTERLEAVER SYSTEM FOR HIGH SPEED SLICING MACHINE PCT/US2011048614 2011-08-22 WO2012024673A3 2014-03-06 PRYOR GLEN F; WEBSTER WAYNE H
A sheet interleaver is provided for a slicing machine that includes a slicing plane for slicing an elongated food product and a sheet of web material beneath the elongated product. The interleaver includes a supply of web material, a drawing station, and a feed station. A tensioning station is disposed between the supply of web material and the drawing station to maintain the tension of the web material at a pre-determined tension. A web accumulation station is between the drawing station and the feed station to provide a slackened length of web material within an acceptable range of slack between the drawing station and the feed station. The supply of web material is disposed on a spool which rotates about a cylindrical shaft. The cylindrical shaft has a braking mechanism which protrudes from the shaft to generate a frictional force against the spool.
195 PROCESS FOR MAKING POUCHES PCT/US0202966 2002-01-31 WO02060758A8 2003-10-23 VILTRO LOUIS JOHN; MOUSSA RACHID BEN; KROESE TIMOTHY BERNARD WILLIAM; CATLIN TANGUY MARIE LOUISE ALE; GRESSEL GREGORY MARTIN; NOBLE CARL; KAERCHER RAY
The present invention relates to a continuous, horizontal process for making water-reactive pouches, involving the steps of: a) continuously feeding a first water-soluble film onto a horizontal portion of a continuously and rotatably moving endless surface, which comprises a plurality of moulds; b) forming from the film on the horizontal portion of the continuously moving surface, and in the moulds on the surface, a continuously moving, horizontally positioned web of open pouches; c) filling the continuously moving, horizontally positioned web of open pouches with a product; d) closing the web of open pouches; e) preferably sealing the closed pouches; whereby step d) and preferably step e) is also done in a continuous manner, preferably while the web of pouches is in horizontal position and continuously moving. The products introduced in the pouch are preferably cleaning compositions or fabric care compositions, in particular laundry or dish washing compositions.

In another example, a discharge assembly includes a conveyor belt including inner and outer belt surfaces, and a plurality of belt rows extending along a belt length. A plurality of package spacing ridges each include outer engaging edges, and one package spacing ridge of the plurality is positioned between each of the plurality of belt rows. The outer belt surface is recessed from the outer engaging edges.
197 FORM-FILL-SEAL MACHINE US15775006 2016-10-03 US20180346159A1 2018-12-06 Makoto ICHIKAWA; Ryoichi SATO; Ryota NAGASHIMA; Shinji KOIKE; Ryo SASAKI
Certain implementations provide a form-fill-seal machine that can efficiently seal a packaging material. The transverse sealing unit may have first members to sandwich the packaging material and sealing the packaging material in a transverse direction, and second members for squeezing the packaging material while sandwiching the packaging material with a prescribed gap left therebetween. The control unit may cause the packaging material to be squeezed by the second members by causing the transverse sealing unit located at a reference position to descend faster than the packaging material being conveyed downward. The control unit may cause the transverse sealing unit to ascend while the packaging material is being sealed by the first members. The control unit may cause the transverse sealing unit to move such that the first members are separated from the packaging material.
