PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a continuous sheet of various sizes by switching a minimum control unit of a motor in response to a sheet size, detecting a rotating position of the motor, and controlling the motor to stop at a position based on it. SOLUTION: A motor rotation controller 15 instructs a drive to accelerate, constantly rotate or decelerate a motor 22, and outputs its signal together with a switching signal. A motor rotation gain switching circuit 16 outputs acceleration, constant speed or deceleration gain in response to a control of 1/2 or 1/6 inch unit according to them. Further, it outputs a pulse train, and supplies the gains and the pulse train to a motor driver 21. And, a stopping position detecting encoder receiver 11 receives a pulse signal for indicating a rotating position of the motor 2 from the stopping position detecting encoder 24 of the motor 22, further receives a switching signal from an MPU 11 via an I/O port 13. An encoder output switching circuit 18 outputs a rotating position detection pulse, and a motor stopping position controller 19 controls its stopping rotating position. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a recording action to be always correctly performed on a roll sheet by controlling the action of each of parts based on the detection results by a sheet type-detection mechanism for detecting the type of a roll sheet by the position of a flange contact member, and a sheet presence-detection mechanism and a sheet tip detection mechanism. SOLUTION: When a web 6 consisting of the desired various types of roll sheet 6a is loaded on a web retaining mechanism, a sliding table on a sheet type detection mechanism 11 is moved and the contact face of a flange contact member 17 is pressed into contact with the outer peripheral edge of a flange 6c. Further, three photosensors are turned ON/OFF in accordance with a stop position for the sliding table under a state in which the contact face of the flange contact member 17 is pressed into contact with the outer peripheral edge of the flange 6c. In addition, the type of the sheet is detected depending upon the combination of the three photosensors. CPU entering an output signal from a sheet presence detection mechanism 36 and a sheet tip detection mechanism 41, in addition to an output from the sheet type detection mechanism 11, controls the action of a printer and an image process based on the results of interpreting the type of the sheet, its presence and detecting the tip of the sheet.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts of a printing machine, to cut the labor of the integration of an anti-curl mechanism, and to improve the efficiency of work by bonding a projected stripe and a recessed stripe with two receiving bodies closed, and causing the drawing part of roll paper placed in a receiving space to pass between the stripes. SOLUTION: In the drawing part of the first receiving body 10 which comes to the upper side in a state in which a roll paper stocking implement is set in a machine, a V-shaped projected stripe 34 is formed by folding inside a receiving space, and in the top part of the stripe 34, the edge is rounded so that the drawn roll paper 16 can pass smoothly. Besides, in the second receiving body 12, a V-shaped recessed stripe 18 which is bonded to the projected stripe 34 of the first receiving body 10 is formed by folding in the drawing part, and the edge of the recessed stripe 18 is also rounded. The projected stripe 34 and the recessed stripe 18, when closed both receiving bodies 10, 12, are bonded to make the drawing part of the roll paper 16, and a prescribed pressurized state is set up from its elastic force.

PURPOSE: To obtain a color printer which is highly precise in registration by a simple structure and excellent in image quality by a method wherein a clamp- opening-closing unit which clamps an end of rolled type recording paper and linearly reciprocates by the specific number of times, is used. CONSTITUTION: Rolled type recording paper 4 wound on a drum and an ink ribbon 6 having a dye layer in the order of a face are sent by pulling between a platen roller 2 and a thermal head 3. A tip of the recording paper is clamped with a clamp-opening-closing unit 5. They linearly reciprocate by taking a length indicated by the arrow as the maximum one between an initial position indicated with the clamp-opening-closing unit 5 and a drawn out position indicated by 5'. For their driving source, a timing belt is equipped to a gear provided outside the clamp-opening-closing unit, and they can be highly precisely linearly reciprocated by rotating the timing belt with the pulse motor. A cutter unit 7 is provided between the clamp-opening-closing unit 5 and a delivery opening 8, and the paper is discharged as cut paper of a specific size from the delivery opening 8.

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of driving sources by improving recording speed by establishing a driving power transmission means by which driving force from a same driving source is selectively transmitted to a winding means, a rewinding means, an exhausting means, and a cutting means. CONSTITUTION:When a motor 22 is rotated in (a), (b) directions, a platen roller 6 is rotated in the arrow (a), (b) directions, and a pair of platen rollers 9 is rotated only in the arrow (a) direction with a driving system D. A recording sheet 4 and an ink sheet 10 are simultaneously carried by rotation of the platen roller 6. Further, an ink sheet axis 11, a winding axis 16, an exhaust roller 9a and further, a cutter 7 are driven with a stepping motor 23. When the motor 23 is rotated in the arrow (a) direction, driving of the ink sheet axis 11 is not transmitted from a gear 30 to a gear 33 by operation of a one-way clutch 32, the ink sheet axis 11 is not driven. When the motor is driven in the arrow (b) direction, it is transmitted to the gear 33 by operation of the one-way clutch 32, and is transmitted to a gear 42 via a clutch gear 34 and a torque limiter 40, and the ink sheet axis 11 is rotated.
