PURPOSE:To ensure that not only protuberant parts of a relief printing plate but also recessed parts, shoulder parts and edge parts of the plate can be securely cleaned, by disposing a squeegee roller having a special construction with excellent properties for close contact with a relief printing plate having an uneven surface, in an ink-removing part. CONSTITUTION:The titled cleaner is constituted mainly of an ink-cleaning solvent applying part A, an ink-removing part B and a cleaning part C. An ink adhered to the surface of a relief printing plate is removed by a cleaning brush roller 4. A part for complementary removal of the ink and for squeegeeing a ink-cleaning solvent is provided in the ink-removing part B. At the squeegeeing part, a squeegee roller 5 is disposed facing a moving roller 1f, with the printing plate therebetween. The squeegee roller 5 comprises a multiplicity of annular plates 22 of the same shape and size arranged adjacently to each other in the axial direction, and a rod 24 having a diameter smaller than the diameter of inner holes 23 of the plates 22 is passed through the inner holes 23 of the annular plates 22. By using the squeegee roller 5, it is possible to securely clean not only the protuberant parts of the printing plate but also the recessed parts, the shoulder parts and the edge parts of the printing plate.

PURPOSE:To provide the titled apparatus which is capable of monitoring jobs from the front as well as the side of a carrier without requiring much space by washing a lengthy plate sequentially being transferred while a carrier for receiving plates is conveyed with expansion. CONSTITUTION:The length of carriers 25 and 26 expanded is made larger than that of a lengthy sheet 1 removed from a print roller. One of the carriers 25 and 26 is expanded while the other is reduced to maintain the sum of the lengths of the carriers 25 and 26 constant. A lengthy sheet 1 is placed on one carrier expanded with the plate 2 upward and passed subsequently under one washing liquid discharge unit 22 (or 23) with the tip thereof 1 grasped on a roller 14 (or 15). The plate surface is poured with water and brushed with an oscillating brush 18. Then, the sheet is passed through the washing liquid discharge unit 23 (or 22) and sent out with a roller 15 (or 14).
